Princess Isabella's 18th birthday & celebrations: April 21, 2025

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
The royal theatre will be the setting for Princess Isabella's second birthday event tomorrow.
Therefore the Palace has shared some old photos and a bit about the history of the theatre (in Danish only though):

Young people from all over the Kingdom will attend a birthday performance on Tuesday at the Royal Theatre's Old Stage to mark Her Royal Highness Princess Isabella's 18th birthday. The performance, which will be broadcast at 7:30 p.m. on DR1, offers entertaining and varied performing arts, both classic and modern, created for the young generation. The Royal Theatre, whose name itself carries a royal history, has had a close connection with the Royal House for centuries. Read more about the theatre and the Royal House's shared history in this post 🎼🎭🩰👑

Link to information about the live broadcast from the events for Princess Isabella's birthday performance. I think this will be viewable outside of Denmark.

The programme for the evening has been released - sounds promising!

Do we know the dress code for tonight?

If anyone wears a tiara it will probably be the two queens. But I don't think Isabella will wear one.

The Royal Household could release photos of Isabella wearing a tiara on April 21.

"Billed Bladet" is showing the arrival of the guests live.

DR is broadcasting live:

How cool would it be if Josephine was involved in some production at the theater tonight?!?

The Princess Bus has arrived at the Royal Theatre.

This is an important part of the event, youth from all over Denmark joining in.

Mary's two sisters are attending, Patricia Baily and Jane Stephens.

A bit of a shame that Marie couldn't make it

How exciting for all the young people attending! Looking forward to seeing the evening's festivities.

Some of the young people are being interviewed as they arrive at the theater...how fun for them!!

This young lady in the video at the link said she had played tennis against Princess Isabella before and talked about Isabella and King Frederik. Can anyone be so kind as to summarize what she says. Thanks!

I will say - the idea of including all these young people in events like this for Christian and now Isabella was genius! What a lovely experience for them! And when they all get older and Christian becomes king and he and these young people are older and around the same age - the kids can say to their kids - OMG I remember when I went to their 18th b-day parties!

wonderful to see that Queen A-M, Princess Benedikte, and the Berleburg's will attend! Curious as to why two of her godparents will not attend -- Queen Mathilde and Princess Alexia.

As Queen Mathilde’s husband turns 65 today, she may be busy with other celebrations…

No clue why Princess Alexia isn’t there though none of Queen Anne-Marie’s children seems to be…

Why only Nicolae and Felix and not Joachim and Marie with Henrik and Athena ?
Probably work and school

Well, It's King Philippe's birthday today, and tomorrow it's Princess Eléonore's birthday, besides, the family is in the middle of a religious pilgrimage, so not surprised at all by the Queen's absence, it makes total sense.

Alexia's absence did took me by surprise.

It would have been nice if her royal godparents (queen Mathilde and princess Alexia) would also have been able to attend. I assume Mathilde is in Spain with her husband and daughter celebrating their birthdays - and hopefully queen Anne-Marie brings a present from her daughter, who apparently also has other obligations.

Probably work and school
No Easter holidays yet?

Did she have so many godparents. There where also Princess Alexia and then Princess Mathilde among them which would be 9 with the persons listed here

I just saw photos of the DRF - WOW is all I can say! They all look amazing. And they prove that you can wear bling and it does not have to always be with a tiara involved. There is enough bling to go around. Nice to see Queen Mary bring out pieces of the ruby set. Isabella looks absolutely stunning! I think she is wearing her mother's long diamond earrings. The dress is gorgeous! And geez, has Christian gotten even taller?

Lovely seeing Nikolai and Felix there...and Mary's sisters look great! So nice that they were able to travel to Denmark to be there and represent the Donaldson side of the family.

No Easter holidays yet?
I don’t know which school the kids go to, but in my state most schools are in session this week, with some giving Friday off. Even very religious schools. Spring Break was weeks ago.

Black tie code today
Actually ”festive” wich gives the guests a more free choice as long as it is a bit more formal than normal…

I know many royal watchers had hoped for white tie, but i think its a wise choice to have it like this given how many young people who are in attendance…

photos from the DRF

love how they included the guest. I already spotted some post on facebook of people spotting their granddaughters/daughters, and sons/grandsons

Nice to see her not wear her mothers gown (like the Fretex becoming monarchy in Norway).
Nice to see Christian got rid of his Gen-z hairstyle. Much better now.
Messy dress of Queen Mary, but nice to see the rubies.
Probably there will be a tiara for an official portrait when her birthday is.

I think the dress code as "festive" made it easier for the young attendees that would not feel the need to go spend a boat load of money they may not really have to buy gala style attire. This makes it easier for them to figure out what to wear. I think it is just fine.

Also, for those expecting Isabella to wear a tiara - I never thought she would - she technically is not 18 yet. So wearing a tiara tonight would have been outside the norm imo. I do think that on the 21st the DRF will release formal photos with Isabella in a tiara and wearing the Order of the Elephant and King Frederik's family order for the first time. Something to look forward to.

Here is a BB article with lovely photos and videos of Isabella's classmates arriving and being interviewed.

WOW! They all look amazing! Isabella looks beautiful! Queen Mary, stunning as always! Nice to see the ruby set make an appearance. Christian just cannot stop growing - he looks very handsome. Vincent too! Frederik looks so proud and happy. The entire DRF hit it out of the park tonight!

Princess Isabella - cannot get over how beautiful she looks in this gown. Nice to see her rocking her mother's diamond earrings. Gives just the right amount of bling to the look. I have a feeling the fashion press is going to lose their minds with how she looks tonight!

They all look really good tonight both the young and the old generation in the DRF…

Isabella will become a favourite of her generation i’m sure in the years to come…

And Queen Ingrid’s rubies on her mother can never go wrong…

Also lovely to see QMII and both her sisters in attendance, going for matching pearls all of them…
