Princess Isabella's 18th birthday & celebrations: April 21, 2025

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Is it automatic or will she have to start public engagement/duties for a period of time prior to receiving
I think in the Scandinavian monarchies it is automatic when they reach adulthood, Ingrid Alexandra wore her order on her birthday which was also the costume in the United Kingdom but weirdly the late Queen after the 70’s decided that you have to work for a family order which doesn’t make sense for me!

Aarhus municipality send out 11.006 invitations for 17-19 year olds in the municipality to take part in a selection for 50 plus partner to attend Isabella's B-day celebration in Aarhus. On the first day alone 2.897 signed up and they still have until 23rd March to respond.

And what about Nikolai?
I would not be surprised if he didn't attend.
Felix however seems to be willing and happy to maintain a close relation with his farbror's family as he is sometimes seen with the Regent Couple on his own and for no particular reason other than, we must assume, that he want's to be with them.
So I suspect Felix is a well liked and perhaps often seen family member and perhaps Isabella and Christian see him quite often.

While Nikolai, who is also older and has his own life, is perhaps not that frequent a visitor. He was also pretty vocal about losing his title, remember. Even though he can hardly blame his farbror Frederik for that.

Please remain on topic of this thread, the on-going off-topic discussion has been removed.

"The Danish Royal House announced this on Instagram :
"The guests for the birthday performance have now been drawn... The guests who have been drawn have now received an email with an invitation to the birthday performance."

The idea about inviting young people to celebrate Isabella has been a resounding success. In Aarhus so much that extra 20 spots (plus a partner) has been added to the 50 spots already to be picked by lottery.
11.006 between 17-19 living in Aarhus municipality were invited. Of those 3.737, or 33.95 % thanked yes.
And among those 70 will be picked who can attend with a partner.
1.985 are female and 1.752 are male - but the opening for signing on extends to this Sunday, so even more may sign up.

- I suspect that the police will run a quiet background check on those who are picked and if they have a history, they will likely be bypassed.

I so wish I had such a handwriting.
Alas my handwriting is such that even doctors find it appalling.

I think this birthday party will be a success! We really need something to celebrate.
When my tribe is a bit concerned we tend to get together to party.

"Students from basic course 2, baking and pastry education at AARHUS TECH will be responsible for baking the cake on Friday - a total of 300 covers.
It's not often that the students bake cakes for so many people at once, so they've been busy for several weeks with brainstorming and test baking - to the delight of the other students at AARHUS TECH😉
The many weeks of intensive baking have resulted in three delicious variants that guests can look forward to on Friday:
A rhubarb cake, a chocolate cake and a lemon cake with the taste of cold soup."

Just love how they highlight the young talent.

Count Ingolf shared that he and his wife will be attending tomorrow's celebration in Aarhus. Some nice words on Isabella.
"When you don't have children of your own, it's great to watch the family's children grow up. We clearly remember when Isabella was born and later what a troublemaker she was. It's going to be a good day tomorrow, and we're looking forward to participating," it says in a written response to BILLED-BLADET."

Will the Princess have her Coat of Arms unveiled to mark her 18th Birthday?

Will descendants of Count Christian attend?

Don't all of the members of the Royal House use the same coat of arms as the King, only with different crowns to denote their rank (King or Queen versus Princess or Prince) (ETA: and marshalled with personal/family arms for consorts)?
The exception being Prince Joachim incorporating his father's family arms into his inescutcheon, but I am assuming that was a one-time favor to Prince Henrik which will not be repeated.

Per the official website: The Royal Coat of Arms

The royal coat of arms is reserved for the monarch, The Royal House of Denmark and The Royal Court.

Interesting, both Queen Mary and Princess Marie has their personal coats of arms added with the royal ones. I presume the next Crown Princess will follow them

You're right; in keeping with European royal tradition, female consorts display their own family's coats of arms (in the case of the commoner wives, granted specifically for their marriages) together with the arms of their husbands. I've edited my post to clarify.

That's what I thought too and wondered if the Danish use the Losenge in Coats of Arms?

No, Danish princesses display their coats of arms on (in the shape of) a shield, just as Danish princes do. The same applies for Norwegian princesses.

Do we have any announcement regarding possible foreign royals in attendance?

The then Princess Alexandra created hers too

Google translate again. It doesn't catch the nuances. The word is "spilopmager"
The characteristic of Isabella is actually: "... and later what a little rascal/funny mischievous little girl she was" - Replace with a better word for this description in English.
It's a much more positive description than troublemaker. Licking windows is just the sort of things a "spilopmager" can come up with.

I fully understood it as an endearing kind of 'troublemaker' and thought it was a great characterization by count Ingolf.

ah thank you Muhler! Much better than google translate. Isabella for me always had/has a little spark, an adventurer. She is a joy!
