Princess Isabella is wearing the daisy turqoise tiara for an official portrait:

The royal website speaks of a git from her grandmother, which means another tiara will be leaving the main line. It is a lovely gesture of the Queen of course.

Perhaps it is the photography, but the tiara looks better than ever. I imagine it may be recently cleaned, the diamonds at least seem more sparkly/less dark, which often happens after cleaning the frame and stones.

It is a nice starter tiara, and shows, again, that Margrethe has no worries about gifting old and historic jewels out of the main line, this the third of her private and historic tiaras that leaves the line of the monarch.
Its a tiara, much like Ingrid Alexandras, that has suffered most of its life in grey hair or black and white photography.
The tiara can be used as a bracelet, but Margrethe apparantly does not care for bracelets and I dont think she has ever worn it like that.

As nice as it that Isabella was gifted a tiara by her grandmother, i wonder if Margrethe will also gift a tiara to Josephine when she turns 18. As now she only wons the baden palmette tiara and the Naassut tiara (not counted the poppies monstrosity) which both are quiet a bit bigger then the the bandeau.,

I do think Queen Margrethe might tinker some of her unworn bracelet to be worn as a tiara.

I wonder what might be the gift from her parents, the King and Queen, will it be some diamond tiaras?

It's a shame if the tiara truly leaves the main line. The Royal House of Denmark should do the same as other royal houses and leave the tiaras to the main line. But the tiara looks great on Princess Isabella.

It will be a lovely memory from her grand mother, and maybe Margrethe finally got in touch with her mortality, for years she hardly borrowed anything to her daughters in law, lots of pieces has been in the vault for years and years unused. When she has passed she will have no occasions to wear it, so why not give it to the next generation, and she does as her mother did, share the wealth around. The monarch will have the crown jewels and the entailed collection in addition to private pieces, tiara occasions just get fewer with time.

I think it’s a lovely gift from grandmother to granddaughter. I’m sure over the coming years Isabella will have cause to wear it. If in future years, say 20-30 years from now when Christian has a family of his own she may choose to gift it back into his line one day.
I believe similar situation occurred in Norway when the Lorentzen family gifted a tiara back to Ingrid Alexandra.

I'm quite happy Queen Margarethe gifted it to Isabella. And yes, hopefully she'll make other tiaras from bracelets for Josephine and Athena.

JMHO but I am so disappointed in this tiara. I just don’t like turquoise stones in a tiara.

While i had hoped it would be a lifetime loan instead of a gift, i must say it suits Isabella who wears it really well…

And her dark hair makes the stones much more visible
That is true. But then the turquoises will also limit her choice in gowns, colorurwise

I think the tiara works really well on Isabella. And the connection to Queen Ingrid is lovely. Having no daughters, Margrethe is finally able to pass on some lovely family pieces to her granddaughters. I'm sure Josephine and Athena will enjoy a jewelry piece or two in the future.

Isabella is also using/borrowing her mother's earrings, which were a gift from Margrethe to Mary for her 50th birthday.

Sounds like the tiara is a personal gift which in this way will eventually leave the main line.
Started as a Swedish tiara possibly a gift from the Duke and Duchess of Connaught to their daughter. Has been worn by members of all three Nordic royal families.

I actually love she'd get it and not a new one. Its a small tiara likely to have got lost in the next generations in the main royal line. As likely the only tiara in Isabella's future family, it will likely get a lot more showings.

I love the orange dress on Isabella. She looks stunning so grown up in these photos.

Re gifting the tiara - I think QMII wanted something special for Isabella, given she's the first girl born in the the line of succession in how many decades? And she is QMII's oldest granddaughter and is currently 2nd in line to the throne. I do hope that her parents (Especially Mary, who I think is very into preserving the family's history via jewelry) will be conscientious enough to in the future preserve this tiara into the family trust. This can happen after QMII is gone and when Isabella is older and maybe begins wearing other tiaras or when she is going to be married, etc. So, there is a way to preserve this tiara in the main line.

If it has been gifted to Isabella it is now her property and she can do with it what she wants. So no possibility for Queen Mary to put into the Family Trust

Never say never. There is always a possibility for the tiara to make its way to the family trust. I don't know why that would have to be taken totally off the table. As stated, if it is now Isabella's personal property, she may decide in the future to do just that. I don't believe this is an open/shut case.

Although the bandeau may leave the main royal line, I find it quite touching that it has been passed down through 4 generations of eldest daughters in royal families—Margaret of Connaught, Ingrid of Sweden, Queen Margrethe, and now Princess Isabella. Perhaps one day Isabella might marry into another royal family and pass the bandeau to her own eldest daughter, continuing its royal journey. Just a little royal daydream on my part

It is indeed Isabella who could decide to go along which such a proposal; it is not up to her mother to decide whether this tiara ends up in some kind of family trust - if Mary (and Frederik) decide to create such a trust. They could of course decide to lure her in by offering or withholding the use of other family jewels (including tiaras).

Or they could financially compensate her. I imagine that may have happened with the Aquamarine tiara of Pss Margaretha of Sweden and possibly also with the Ruby peacock tiara.

Anyway, she will have many years ahead of her in which she can enjoy this lovely tiara. It will be great to see it more often as for Queen Margrethe II it wasn't always the most obvious choice to wear.

The Danish Royal family already have such a trust.

On the close-ups provided by the Danish website it seems that some of the turqoises are damaged and with a black crack/spot here and there. I know nothing of turqoises and wonder if it can not be repaired? I suppose it adds to the character of the piece, as Queen Margrethe said: we don't count the carats but the centuries.
