Other than the hairstyle I thought the Princess looked wonderful.
The hairstyle sadly let down the over all look.

I agree, the dress did look better on Mette than it did on Ingrid. But I am quite relaxed about this, it is still very early days for Ingrid. She will find her style and perfect it, she has a lifetime of being in the spotlight ahead of her. Some how the dress looked better on Mette-Marit than it does on Ingrid Alexandra. Shame
I also think she should have worn her hair up. She is wearing a stunning necklace but it is partially hidden by her wearing her hair down.
I think you're bringing an outside perspective here.let's not forget part of the PR strategy for rewear rotation is “getting the obsessive press to care somewhat less about whatever they wear by making it much less interesting”.
I don't mind if Ingrid wears her mother's clothes, its actually a nice gesture. However, what I don't understand is why those clothes aren't tailored made for Ingrid. Why? She is clearly different from her mother, she is more petite, less tall and less busty. A Royal House has seamstresses, right? Why don't they use them? So far, none of the MM clothes fits Ingrid, none of them! At least, make some alterations in order to fit. It puzzles me, or perhaps it is intentional, which I don't understand why...
I loved the ice blue dress MM wore in Stockholm 2010, however i have to agree with the chorus who belives it had not been re-fitted properly for Ingrid… It looked just like MM had taken it off and Ingrid had put it on…
I suspect nothing is done regarding a new wardrobe of evening dresses for Ingrid because she is not expected to be a regular attendant for gala dinners yet for many years (if we should take her parents and grandparents on their words)
She looked really lovely in her tiara debut/portrait dress and her gala one, so it appears at least those two were properly fitted for her?
The question is why the Palace isn’t a little more concerned with how she wears the clothes since then (yes, even with everything else going on, this is a pretty minor thing someone should have attended to. And maybe that it has not been [I really can’t understand Sonja letting it go on and on] is just slightly symptomatic of the NRF cracks…)
Yes, I think Queen Mary is a great example of reusing her clothes, but in a good way. Ingrid wears her mother's dresses and clothes, and I think that's great (it's a good message for the people), but its "just" a reuse, whereas it should be "changing" to fit her body type. Queen Mary reuses but changes them, and in doing so, she creates something new and sustainable. You can be sustainable and adjustable/flexible at the same time. But Ingrid is young, I bet she will learn how to use her mother's clothes and elevate them to nicer things.I think she should be applauded for recycling clothes - its bad for us that the clothes she recycles are her mother's and sometimes of questionable taste.
My point though is that too often royals (even more so celebs) having fancy clothes, gala dresses etc etc and we see them ONCE. I certainly would prefer some of our favourite royals to dig into their closets and bring out their best clothes and rewear them a lot more - take Queen Mary she is master at reusing and revamping her clothes.
Maybe Ingrid needs to invest in a few core pieces that she can recycle for years at gala events etc
