Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway Jewels

I really like these but I've also always liked Queen Sonja's gold jewelry.

I think we'll still have to wait a few years until we see Ingrid Alexandra get married.

New jewlery from today's photo with king frederik. Is she engaged?

If she was engaged, the royal court would no doubt announce that. I wear a ring on my left hand, and I'm not engaged or married. I wear it on my left because I can't wear it on my right; there's already a ring there. Besides, neither of those two rings looks like an engagement ring.

Beautiful historic jewels on Princess Ingrid Alexandra!

Those diamond earrings are really so beautiful!

It seems Ingrid Alexandra is debuting the diamond collet necklace she got from the King and Queen for her 18th birthday that has been owned by Queen Maud and at the disposal of princess Ragnhild (according to the official gift list) for the birthday party of the King today. Along with her usual diamond and pearl earrings.

It was nice to finally see the diamond necklace. Some people thought it maybe was the "fringe" rivere of Princess Ragnhild that originally was a diamond sautoir necklace owned by Queen Maud. But that one, King Olav gifted to Princess Margaretha, then it was worn by Countess Ruth before beeing sold to Erling Lorentzen and therefore a private piece. Anyways, it is nice to see Ingrid have good use of the jewellery she has - and she seem to like to wear them too.

It's good to see one of the younger Princesses to wear a necklace. Many of the royal Ladies seems to have an allergy against them and barely wear them, specially in the generation of Ingrid Alexandra's mother.

Why did King Olav gift Jewels from his mother to Princess Margaretha?

Why did King Olav gift Jewels from his mother to Princess Margaretha?
According to Trond Norèn Isaksen I think he wrote in his FB page that the reason was that Crown Princess Märtha received alot more jewellery than her sister, so he gave her the diamond necklace as a compensation. But I don't remember - please ask him or go to his page and find it. Right now he posted about the necklace from yesterday and mentions the 95 stone diamonds sautoir.

From my memory Isaksen wrote in his book, as you say, that King Olav felt Margaretha had been short handed with jewels when Martha got the emeralds (during dramatic circunstances) so he gave her this necklace that was made into the fringe necklace (and earrings?) and further that Erling Lorentzen thought his wife had few jewels from Queen Maud so he bought it from the Rosenborgs. Ragnhild wore it for CP Haakons wedding, but never since? And not her kids either I think.

Its lovely to see the princess enjoying the beautiful and old collection she has gotten from her grandparents that suits her age, and she is wearing the pieces as often as she has the possibility. She out-jewels her mother on most occasions and no necklace allergy either, so it gives hope that she will want to dig in to the vault when she has the possibility and use som pieces this has been more or less forgotten. When she wears the old pieces she will also avoid all the articles about how expensive the modern jewels are, and rather highlight the history.

Thanks, it was from the book. The diamond earrings are also most likely part of the long necklace. The only jewellery we have seen worn by the Lorentzen ladies (Ingeborg Ribeiro) in public after Ragnhild's death are the sunburst brooch and diamond and pearl earrings Ragnhild wore for the event Ruth wore the long diamond necklace. So it will be interesting to see what else may appear in the main line later. I hope that Ingrid will bring out some of the so called dog collars with pearls and the zig zag diamond and ruby collar.
I think this is a photo of countess Ruth wearing the long diamond necklace

Great to see the old jewellery get used. Well done, I-A!

Thanks. Still odd that he gave her something from Queen Maud and nothing which Märtha had been gifted. And why did he not give something to the children of Astrid who really got the sort deal in terms of Jewells of their grandmother.

I thought the necklace originally belonged to her grandmother (Princess Ingeborg) and was given as a gift at some point, just like the tiara
It makes more sense then that King Olav gives it to Margaretha

I thought so too!
We have photographic evidence that Princess Ingeborg owned/wore a long diamond collet necklace. It was also worn at least once by Princess Kristine Bernadotte for a gala in Norway (with what was possibly Pss Ingeborg's diamond tiara).

Yes its a really promising sign and also lovely to see the necklace back in the NRF!

Other than the amethysts, since she likes borrowing from her mother… She has only worn her own tiara a couple of times. It would seem to make sense to take it out a little more given the opportunities?

Edit: Unless Great-Auntie Astrid gives (or loans) her the Turquoise Circlet (or something else) like the article throws out. If that happens, wear the new thing by all means, Ingrid.

I would be very surprised if Ingrid would start digging deeper into the jewel vault already now… I expect we’ll see her wear the Pearl Circle Tiara and other jewellery she has recived, for the icelandic state visit..

For the arrival ceremony she wore her pearl earrings she wore for her birthday gala, a diamond bee brooch her mother has worn a couple of times, last time at the danish state visit and the lunch at Akerhus, her mothers pomellato rings.

The gold bracelet I do think was a gift for her 18th og her confirmation, but cant find a photo of it now.

Nice to see her with all these jewels. The tiara is a bit difficult to wear perhaps, as are more tiaras of that period. It was made for a puffy hairstyle. As that is very much not the style now is is indeed a sollution to have it tilted backwards, almost as a headband, as her mother does as well.
