On January 20th, Princess Hisako attended the opening ceremony for the special exhibition commemorating the 1150th anniversary of Daikaku-ji Temple, the former Saga Imperial Palace "A profusion of colors: paintings related to the Imperial Palace" at Tokyo National Museum - Heiseikan in Taito, Tokyo. The exhibition runs from January 21 to March 16.

Princess Tsuguko will attend the opening ceremony and preview of the "Japan Grand Prix International Orchid and Flower Show 2024 - Festival of Flowers & Greenery" on February 5th at the Tokyo Dome City Prism Hall.

As always, I except also former Princess Noriko to attend as advisor.

Of course, when it comes to Princess Tsuguko, I'm looking forward to it. I wonder, is Princess Hisako handing over some events to her daughter? If that's the case, welcome  This month, I also hope to see her at the 3rd Global Youth Forum for a Culture of Lawfulness (she attended the 1st in 2021 and the 2nd in 2022).

On February 5th, Princess Tsuguko attended the opening ceremony and preview of the "Japan Grand Prix International Orchid and Flower Show 2025 - Festival of Flowers & Greenery" at the Tokyo Dome City Prism All, in Bunkyo, Tokyo.

She delivered a speech during the event, stating that "I hope that people will not only appreciate the beauty of orchids, but also reflect on the importance of protecting the environment and preserving biodiversity". In her speech, Princess Tsuguko mentioned that there will be a special exhibition of the Rebun Slipper of Venus (Cypripedium macranthum var. rebunense, which enters flowering between May and June), a plant found only on Rebun Island in Hokkaidō Prefecture, that she will also attend (or attended already? My translator made a bit of a mess). Noting that the island's ecosystem has also collapsed and that the number of Slipper of Venus is declining, the Princess has asked to respect biodiversity. She also toured the preview of the exhibition and enjoyed chatting with the presents.

I suppose that from now on she'll attend regularly every year, as she is not cited as attending on her mother's behalf.

ETA: Former Princess Noriko as advisor attended as well.

Thanks! I’m not convinced about Princess Tsuguko taking over. Princess Hisako had a conflict in the morning and will visit the flower show later. It's always nice to see Noriko.

On February 5th, she attended the opening of the 2024 / 27th Japan through Diplomats' Eyes photo exhibition "Inspiring Japan" at the Red Brick Factory in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. This is the exhibition's last stop after stints in Tokyo, Kobe and Okinawa.

I'll believe Tsuguko has taken over when Hisako stops attending

... Princess Tsuguko of Takamado spoke at the opening ceremony, “I would be glad if visitors would not only appreciate the beauty of orchids, but also consider the importance of preserving the environment and biodiversity.”

Princess Tsuguko will visit Kyoto Prefecture February 14th-15th to attend the 3rd Global Youth Forum for a Culture of Lawfulness (February 15th-16th) which will be held at the Kyoto International Conference Center in Kyoto City.

This is Princess Tsuguko's third attendance at the forum: it was held respectively as the 1st edition in October 2021 and as the 2nd edition in December 2022 and she attended both of them. She also attended the Kyoto Congress Youth Forum in February 2021.

Maybe she'll perform other activities while in Kyoto? This news absolutely made my day ❤️

On February 15th, Princess Tsuguko attended the opening ceremony of the 3rd Global Youth Forum for a Culture of Lawfulness at the Kyoto International Conference Center in Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture.

She delivered a speech at the beginning of the event. She visited the Prefecture February 14th-15th.

I'm still searching for more photos or a video. As for the previous forums, Princess Tsuguko has received more media coverage, and I expected the same for this year. At least I expect a summary from the official website of the forum, as for the previous ones. Maybe the Princess has taken part in other activities in Kyoto? I hope.

It's always frustrating to search for photos and never find them. I understand that they are members of a collateral branch of the Imperial Family, but they are Imperial Princesses in the same way, so they deserve media coverage like the Emperor and Akishino families, because they have nothing less than them.
