Princess Beatrix has thanked all well-wishers for the birthday greetings for her 87th birthday on January 31:
Apologies if this has been posted already, but it was a rare case of European royalty making the UK news media.
Uden Town Hall in the Netherlands apparently accidentally threw out a print of Andy Warhol's famous portrait of Beatrix from his 'Reigning Queen's' series. It was worth around €15,000 / £12,000.

The silkscreen print of Queen Beatrix was among 45 artworks likely to have been thrown away during renovations of Uden town hall in the Netherlands in 2023.
Maashorst municipality officials confirmed on Thursday that the missing artworks, valued at €22,000 (£18,700), were likely disposed of in council rubbish vans and incinerated at a local waste centre, an investigation by the Dutch municipalities found.
The case comes months after another incident involving Warhol’s works in the Netherlands, when thieves attempted to steal four prints from the same “Reigning Queens” series from a gallery in North Brabant province.
That's great! Fresh, involuntary humour at its bestShe asked them if they had seen the sculptures already: 'yes a long time ago, when I was still little' responded one, to which the Princess had to laugh.
Two hiking poles is much more stable - especially with knee problems - than one walking stick which makes you lean in on one side, so I am glad she started using them on public engagements as well. Here are a few more photos from the exhibition ARTZUID in Amsterdam.
Beatrix is now using two walking sticks and needs some assistance too.

Beatrix is being helped hereIf you look at the video of this event, she only uses two poles when she's on uneven ground outdoors walking around the exhibitions. At around 12:11, as she enters the building, an aide takes the poles and hands her a single cane. I didn't see any point where she needs any assistance, apart from swapping the poles, cane, and flowers.
If you watch the video from the reverse angle, she's not actually being helped. The woman just put her arm out.Beatrix is being helped here
