Princess Alexia, News and Events Part 1 (Jan 2022 - present)

I liked her natural reddish hair color much better, but can understand that she wants to try something new

It looks the same time me. It appears she gelled down the front part of her hair for the style. However you can still see the reddish color on her lose hair.

Alexia was there because she had to. I think she will not stay in the Netherlands where she is a Spare.

Alexia has "main character" energy. I imagine she will remain in the Netherlands and play a supportive role to her sister in carrying out engagements . I can see her like a future Princess Margriet. I think the purpose of her getting a university education is just to say that she has an education. I don't forsee her for example going to work as an engineer for a large engineering firm in the UK or the Netherlands.

Interesting.
Has there been any serious talks in the Netherlands about the roles of Alexia and Ariane? Whether they should have a supporting role? And if so, who is preferred?

:previous: Alexia talked about it herself at king’s day a few years ago. Just like their uncles, they are to have private careers that should be acceptable for a member of the royal family. They will support their sister but that will most likely mean occasionally undertake a royal event or engagement. Alexia explained that she is well aware of her position in that respect.

It definitely is not about ‘just having an education’. She is expected to get both a Bachelor and Master degree and be able to support herself. Her uncle prince Friso did an excellent job of that after getting his engineering degree.

Whether she will be an employee, an entrepreneur or take a role in public service is up to her as long as it is appropriate for a princess of the Netherlands.

Well, I remember everyone's surprise here when she changed careers and the reflections they had about their own impressions of her.

I agree,
She didn't choose an easy course of study, to study civil engineering, you need certain qualities, math, statistics, etc. If she hadn't had an affinity for it, she could have chosen something easier to study. So I don't think she chose it to study anything, there would have been easier things.
We'll see how it develops. She is very attractive and self-confident and will definitely find her way.

She didn’t get the math affinity from nowhere, either; her mother’s passion is economics and finance…

Alexia is a bit more complicated than her sisters. We’ll see how she ends up. For the moment she at least seems to be quite bright, working hard, and doing fine.

During king's day, when asked about her change to civil engineering, Alexia said that she is currently preparing for her exams, that she has to study hard but also has time to explore London.
I didn’t know she had changed her degrees to civil engineering! How interesting. I think her previous course was more in the social impact scene if I remember correctly, so if so, what a change. Has alexia spoken about her time in London and how she is finding it? I believe Mabel may still live there (and possibly her cousins?) so she may have some family support.

It’s not that different; she changed one engineering degree for another and remained at the same faculty at UCL. She started with ‘Science and Engineering for Social Change’ and changed to Civil Engineering after about two months.

In king’s day she mentioned that next to her studies she has time to explore London, which she enjoys.
