He's said to be very ill which is said to be behind the need for the quick wedding.
He did look quite frail and overwhelmed. I'm glad that he could be present for his daughter's wedding - I'm sure his presence was meaningful for her and her children as well.
Honestly, after your post JR76, I can't find anything to criticize about this wedding. These were just two private people who wanted to celebrate their wedding with the people they love the most. I hope Nikolaos and Chrysi had a wonderful celebration and that they and the children have a happy future together.

Oh I just realised that Olga Duchess of Aosta was also there.
Yes, she walked to the church ahead of her mother, sister Alexandra, and Alexandra's husband Nicolas.

Prince Aimone did not attend the wedding as he was among the guests at the UK-Italy dinner in Highgrove with King Charles.

Shame there were so many absences. Specially given the huge turnout at Nikolaos first wedding. I would have expected all his siblings there, and more cousins representation (Elena and Felipe from Spain, Frederick from Denmark…) along with more nephews and nieces. Maybe the wedding was organised quickly? I guess we won’t know…!!
As Nikolaos and Chrysí apparently made it a priority to visit Copenhagen a week before their wedding (not to attend the reception for the DRF's head of communications as incorrectly reported), I did fear it would mean that Benedikte and her children would be the only Danish representation.

M&F always seemed close to Nikolaos and Tatiana (she was invited to their wedding 6 years before she and Nikolaos married) – perhaps they chose to offer their congratulations privately out of respect for Tatiana considering how soon the marriage is after the divorce was finalised.

Though I must admit I too have been very disappointed with the lack of Danish representation at the recent couple of Greek weddings. At least you can always count on Benedikte!

You are right. He seems bad. I noticed that while approaching the church with his daughter je lost his step and started going opposite. Chryssi picked hIm back.
Also the sport shoes should be for medical purposes

I'm glad you realized her father was very old at 90 and ill. A miracle he was able to walk the uphill distance. Even though I am a nurse and recognized his situation right away this all seemed pretty obvious! There is no way in his condition he is able to smile most likely in physical pain and concentrate on not falling. I thought this looked like a lovely wedding. Shall we briefly reflect on ML and her shaman's wedding in Norway recently...what a flippin' nightmare that was!! I hope Chryssi and Nikolaos a long and happy life together!!

I guess the quick wedding now makes sense with the brides father being old and unwell. I’m so glad he could see her daughter marrying. I guess to her, his presence there was more important than what the press and public would be saying about the quick wedding or who else was or wasn’t there. As it should be. They look like a well matched couple and I’m glad her father was there with her.

Having to drag her very old father up the aisle and her young son would make anyone nervous.
I was totally surprised by the dress. It looks like a gala dress. I expected something more sober, along the lines of what MC wore, but maybe in a dusty rose or something.
Nicolas looks terrible. Blue blazer and black pants? He looked like a nervous wreck

As far as Nikolaos wearing a dark blue suitcoat with black dress pants, it does seem peculiar for a groom to wear at his wedding. However wearing black with blue is not the big taboo it used to be. The wedding party gentlemen all wore light blue ties perhaps he liked the dark blue jacket against the tie better. Who knows. Good catch though, I confess I didn't notice right away.😉

I must be alone in not loving her dress. The top part reminds me of easter toy where chick pops out of cracked egg. I keep imagining the zig zag to pop up and yellow chick to appear.

I get its common wedding tiara for family but connection to his ex makes odd. And the hair.

Shame his brother and more cousins not there. It makes sense quicker wedding with her dad ill.

I noticed that too, It’s especially odd because the night before he was wearing a blue suit and carrying two suit bags, I wonder if he had a wardrobe malfunction at the last minute.

But there were a lot of odd outfits in the wedding and the rehearsal party.

I thought Chrysi's dress was really nice. I just wish that I was slim enough to get away with something like that! Her hair was messy, though.

Blue jackets really don't go with black trousers.

Unless you are James Bond. But then, Bond knows his dress code.

The upper part of the dress makes it look like she is bra-less. Every time I look at it, I get the same impression.😮

This notice accompanied the invitation on a separate loose sheet .

"PLEASE KEEP THIS EVENT PRIVATE BY NOT SHARING PHOTOS FROM TODAY ON SOCIAL MEDIA.LET´S SHERISS THESE MOMENTS TOGETHER IN PRIVATE.
THANK YOU"

I can't publish it because it is a private profile on a social network, but the invitation was white, with the letters of the monogram engraved on the cover.

IMO this was a private wedding between two Greek citizens, and had it not been for ex-queen Anne-Marie being a former Danish princess, we would not have heard much about it here in Denmark! While Greece is a country easy to fall in love with, I never really understood why the former king and Queen chose to return to a country which didn’t want them back as royals! Hopefully the former contention between the Greek authorites and the family has been settled, now that some of them are Greek citizens! I wish the couple a happy life, and BTW I liked her dress and her boho hairstyle. Since 1995 the small tiara of Anne-Marie has been used as the “ default” wedding tiara of daughters-in-law, and if the bride was happy to wear it, then who are we to judge? Another tiara of Anne-Marie, The Khedive of Egypt- has only been worn by her family members at their weddings.

Hm.. being the wife of a Mr. Nicholaos de Gréce, she isn’t! However out of courtesy she could be styled “princess” if or when attending events of foreign RFs. Because of the family connection, I would be very surprised if the Danish royal court didn’t style her something to that effect!

Prince Nikolaos is only the fourth member of the Greek Royal Family to wed a Greek citizen :

The first one was the fourth King Alexander who married during his reign Aspasia Manos in 1919.

The second one was Princess Maria of Greece and Denmark, daughter of second King George I, who married (also for her second wedding) admiral Perikles Ioannidis in 1922.

The third one was Prince Michael, grandson of the second King George I, who married Marina Karella (who was present last week) on 1965.

Coincidentally Prince Nikolaos’ wedding took place 60 years day by day after Perikles Ioannidis death and Prince Michael and Princess Marina’s wedding !

To be more specific, I limited this list to those who bear or bore the title of prince or king of greece, otherwise we shall consider :

Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia, only grandson of King Alexander who married (also his second wedding !) Greek Katherine Bathis in 1985

Duke Aimone of Aosta, great grandson of King Constantine I, who married his second cousin Princess Olga of Greece, daughter of Prince Michael and Princess Marina, in 2008.
