Nice to see so many family members present, and they all look happy. The boy on Chrysi's side must be one of her children, and next to her her father. How lovely. I wish them a very happy and everlasting marriage.

This detail is wonderful, Chrysi's bouquet of flowers was made of Lilies of the Valley, Queen Anna Maria's favorite flower. Queen Anna Maria's wedding bouquet of flowers was made up of these flowers.
Eleni Metaxa Papadopoulou is the Greek who has noticed this detail. Thank you:love::love::love::love:

Wonder who the woman behind them is. she was already with them yesterday evening.

The first time she was seen in public was at Constantine's memorial service in Windsor and she was also at Theodora's wedding. She is probably a companion/caretaker for Irene, at least at Greek royal family events. I have not seen her in Spain yet.

Just watched the wedding, I think it was lovely. The only thing that really surprised me was the clothes and shoes of many of the female guests. It was windy and 5-6 degrees Celsius today in Athens. Strange choices of almost spring outfits.

Exactly my thoughts. And some of them didn't even wear a coat.

I like the dress but was a little surprised at it for a religious wedding. And I do wish they could have found a different tiara choice, wearing the same as Nikolaos first wife so soon after they divorced makes feel uncomfortable seeing it.

That said, it seemed like a lovely smallish (by royal standards) family wedding.

Yes about the tiara. It's certainly not the only one they have. Was there something that would have made a good, practical substitute?

As the shoulders were covered I feel it was ok for a religious wedding , certainly suited the bride . I was disappointed that the family could not have found another tiara , Princess Alexia's tiara is lovely . However, perhaps it was felt that not wearing the same tiara that other brides marrying into the family have worn , might appear as a snub ?

I didn't care for the design of the top of the dress; it also seemed to need more "support" in the chest area. But she has a great figure.

I also think she would have looked more elegant without the hair in her face. Her makeup was great.

I have to be honest. Given that it is the bride's third wedding and that she is the mother of three, she could have done without the veil and looked perfect.

Shame there were so many absences. Specially given the huge turnout at Nikolaos first wedding. I would have expected all his siblings there, and more cousins representation (Elena and Felipe from Spain, Frederick from Denmark…) along with more nephews and nieces. Maybe the wedding was organised quickly? I guess we won’t know…!!

I am surprised by his brother's absence but regarding the others: this wedding comes less than a year after the announcement of his separation and only a few months after his divorce, so I am not surprised that it is on a much smaller scale than when he married Tatiana with whom he had been together with for many years with a marriage taking place 8 months after the official announcement of their engagement at the end of the summer.

If I'm not wrong, it was the 1st wedding in church for the bride, her previous wedding was civil. So why not à vale? Has it any spécial meaning or is just an accessory?
The dress was delicate, I didn't die for, but it was appropriate. No cleavage, covered shoulders and loose shape, not accentuate body forms.
Yes wearing the same tiara like Tatiana hurt me, I would strongly avoid. It should not be a family tradition, Marie-Chantal wore another tiara. The image of Tatiana as a bride with the same tiara is extremely strong, and the comparison comes in mind..
His previous marriage was an explosion of joy, happiness, colorful and and warm (Greek summer helping to..) Youth also.
To this one, I had the impression that everyone was trying to setting down excessive expression of feelings.
Maybe royalty considers it as appropriate for second wedding of a middle age couple.
Now the bride. I must say that I considered her as average. I was expecting her to appear more gorgeous considering her natural treats. She looked stressed, especially in the beginning, avoiding to look at the crowd and looking down. She does not look comfortable with large public.
Even her father (very old ) was not shining and proud like a father in these circumstances, but might be the age effect.I would say the most uncomfortable looking people from all... were bride and father.
(…)
Also...what happened with groom's young brother? Very strange absence, uncommented.

I need to correct my post and i could not edit it anymore.
I checked and indeed Marie-Chantal also wore the Antiqe corsage tiara. It is strange, i always thought she wore a fringe tiara, gifted by her parents. I was wrong.

So it might be a tradition and not wearing it, could show as Chryssi was given an inferior position

Chrysi's dress was very beautiful and suited her so well. And the wedding bouquet was wonderful. She and her father seemed overwhelmed about the large press coverage. Chrysi seems to be a very natural and down-to-earth woman and I'm glad she keeped her style at the wedding too. Nikolaos is 55, Chrysi is 43. This was a wedding of two mature people who have been married before, so it is very understandable that they chose a small wedding. Of course Chrysi wore the Antique corsage tiara, it is a tradition at the family.
And I loved the shoes of the father of the bride!

New day, new impressions. I liked the wedding.
It was very appropriate for the circumstances. Of course it wouldn't look like the first one. The groom is 14 years older, heading for his late 50s, it's his second wedding.
The bride will be 44 this year, divorced with two children 12 and 11 years old, part of a very well known family but she, herself very discreet. There were occasional photos of her when attending a social event (rarely) or accompanying her ex husband or ex boyfriend, both very well known artists in Greece. She never gave an interview, never spoke to the press, never invited any attention. Her first wedding was December 2012 in the Mayor's office, a handful of people, no press. That't who she is, she is a private citizen, marrying another private citizen, who also happens to be the second son of a former king who lost his throne 50 years ago, but now lives a very quite life in Athens, not exactly the centre of the world in royal and jet-set terms.
So, I think we should judge the event by other standards as his first wedding.
The dress was lovely (she must have been freezing), the tiara was ok (every bride of the family has worn it for the last 30 years, there would be comments if she didn't wear it), everything was fine for a low key wedding of two middle-aged private citizens.
I don't think many of us found Martha's wedding in Norway so appropriate given the circumstances.

I've read many comments regarding her father (in Vanitatis, Insta) critisizing his tie, his shoes, the fact he didn't look happy and it made me wonder how many people lack empathy. He is almost 90 years old, frail and, if the rumours are right, ill.
As for the "so soon after the divorce" comments and the "team Tatiana" comments I read (a la Jolie-Aniston for the older ones), noone knows when Nikolaos and Tatiana really stopped being a couple. Do we all really think everything was great until March 2024, they had a fight and one month later they divorced? Rumours about Tatiana having another relationship were going on in Athens before we heard something about Chrysi (who was in a relationship with a well known actor until December 2023). It was rumoured they have been apart for almost 3 years. Also, if Nikolaos was desperate about having children or a wealthier wife, he wouldn't have stayed (happily for the most part it seems) 20 years with Tatiana.
I like both women and really wish them the best.

I thought the bride looked somewhat unpolished and uncomfortable. Strange wedding. Re tiara, I believe all royal in law women have worn the same tiara therefore all being treated equally. AM owns more tiaras and her daughers wore another one of that disposal at their weddings. And MC has different tiaras too.

I understand what you say, but that's exactly her. She has a very relaxed, boho style, never liked attention. It shows, of course. It's not as if she is going to have any official obligations of any kind. I think she is exactly what Nikolaos needs at this phase of his life. And with two kids living with them (..)the priorities will be completely different.

On a sillier note, I would just add that I really smiled at the thought of the members of Greece's royal family (with the exception of Anne-Marie, Alexia and Pavlos) struggling to speak a word of greek with Chrysi.

I don't think they even try to...
Chryssi belongs to the generation of rich children who attended Bilingual schools and learned English deeply. So English comes natural for her ..

Yes, of course. But to be honest, although she was not by any means obliged to, I was surprised that after 30 years MC couldn't articulate a word when asked by the reporters. Same for Constantine Alexios, who will also be joining the army. I guess it wasn't important for Pavlos.

Agree.
The matter has been discussed many times. Marie Chantal just said kalimera. I presume both understand more than they speak... but...

Here à video from inside the church from Instagram

The dress in motion is gorgeous
