Thank you Hannelore :)

prince Manuel has a degree in biology from Columbia University in the US.

Does someone know what Anna studied ?

About Manuel's sister Pilar - Are you sure she's autistic? I read somwhere that she had a heart failure because of the anasthetics when she was operated as a baby, and that's what made her disabled. Her parents took her to Florida for a special therapy with dolphins but without much result. She goes to a special school with a lot of outdoors activities and contact with nature.

Anna really does look a lot like Princess Alexandra and Princess Nathalie I think!

Can anyone tell me exactly how Anna's family is related to Prince Richard's family? Is her father Richard's brother?

http://genealogy.euweb.cz/sponheim/sponh10.html

Anna's grandfather (prince Ludwig Ferdinand °1910) was a brother of Natalie & Alexandra's grandfather (prince Gustav Albrecht °1907).

They look a little bit alike, but not much IMO.

Does anyone know why the couple are getting married in Stockholm? I know Anna's parents were married in Sweden (as the Countess is Swedish), but I expected the wedding to be Germany.

Summary of media buzz from Aftonbladet, Södermanlands Nyheter and Swedish Radio:

Today around 350 guests, among them the King and Queen of Sweden as well as many royals and nobles from around Europe, were expected to have attended the wedding between Prince Manuel of Bavaria and Princess Anna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein in the small villages of Stigtomta and Bärbo in the Södermanland County.

The wedding ceremony was scheduled to be held at 3 PM this afternoon in the small village church of Stigtomta, and the reception is now being held at the mansion of Nääs (owned by the Swedish noble family of Wachtmeister, family of the bride on the maternal side) in the village of Bärbo, to which the guests were transported by bus. They were wedded by the protestant priest Johan Dalman from Uppsala together with a catholic priest, since the bride and groom belong to different faiths.

Let’s hope for pictures soon!

Here are three pictures of the church, from Fotomarktplatz, one of the mansion of Nääs from Södermanlands Nyheter, and a map from the local parish (where you can see the location of the villages, the closest bigger town is Nyköping):

Here´s the link to the article from the local paper about the preparations for the wedding. Nothing special :)
Basicly the same things as in GrandDuchess summary above
http://www.sn.se/parser.php?sect1=101&sect2=157&id=85899

a fun fact: all people that are involved in the preparations has to wear caps with "Nääs 6/8 2005" (the location and date) :D

and here´s the first photos of the bride and groom (from fotomarktplatz)

Isn't Madeleine wearing the same dress she wore at the prewedding dinner of Prince Felipe and Letizia? It seems...

Yes, it's at least the 4th or fifth time she wore this dress (also at German state visit, a dinner in Stockholm and other occasions I believe), well she's right it looks very pretty on her...

Thanks for the photos Yennie and Hannelore. From these photos alone, I can say that I really like Anna's bouquet. I can't wait for more photos of Anna and her dress.

Yennie, I also think Princess Madeleine looks a little bit peculiar in the face as well. Perhaps it is the picture (bad photographer:rolleyes: ) but her face looks more angular and wider. It is a pitty that Madeleigne's tiara doesn't have a more disguisable base.

I'm looking forward to more pictures.:)

Madeleine doesn´t look her best. Her face looks a little odd. Nice dress though. :) Victoria on the other hand is quite the vision in her gown.

Yes, she does. Thanks for the photos, Misshelen. Bold move by Silvia in an all orange dress with a nice wrap. A Stylish Queen...God Bless our stylish queen...

I must say that I really like both Madeleine and Victorias dresses. They are old, but this time they look much better than before... that pink dress looked hideous before, but now with Victorias "new" body and more mature look (compared to when she wore it in 2001) I think it looks good on her.
And beside from Madeleines slightly "odd" face, that dress makes her look fantastic!

and last but not least, Carl Philip looks handsome as always
