HRH PRINCE JOACHIM OF DENMARK TO VISIT VIETNAM
The prince will take a closer look at development assistance and business cooperation projects
His Royal Highness Prince Joachim will visit Vietnam and Cambodia in his capacity as protector for Care Denmark, one of the Danish NGO's, which are active in Vietnam with support from Danida.
During his visit in Vietnam 12-18 March 2006 the prince will get the opportunity to see a number of projects which aim to improve the livelyhood for farmers and fishermen and -women in the Mekong delta.
Among others HRH Prince Joachim will visit the PACODE programme. Through this programme Care assists khmer minorities in getting better acces to safe water in cooperation with two other Danish NGO's - The Danish-Vietnamese Association and the Organisation for Renewable Energy.
The prince will also get an insight in two major Danida assisted sector programmes within fisheries and agriculture.
The prince will meet several Danish businesses and their Vietnamese partners, which are involved in cooperation projects supported by Danida's Private Sector Development Programme.
The prince will visit the furniture corporation Scancom - one of the biggest Danish companies in the region - with more than 4.000 employees and an extensive network of suppliers in Vietnam.
During the visit the prince will inaugurate to new business projects: A solar panel plant, established in HCMC by the Danish company GJ Teknik and the Vietnamese partner Viet Phu, and the new offices of CBD Design, who has established a succesful cooperation with the vietnamese partner Goldsun.
