In the speech of one of the awardees, Gonzalo López Alba (a political feature writer of ABC), he asked the Prince of Asturias to relay to Doña Letizia the desire of the majority of journalists for the Princess to honor them by being the patron of their profession. To this, Don Felipe responded informally (to a small group he was with during the break) that he'll definitely inform the Princess about the request.

I sure would not mind seeing her in charge especially in journalism related events. It will be nice if she'll finally give in to the request of former colleagues; but maybe not in all.
