Don Felipe, the unknown prince
One, yesterday, had the opportunity to eat with Felipe de Borbón. Or, that before coming to the sea bass to the plate with vegetables, vegetables, flowers and outbreaks, one began to suspect that this man is known little and, certainly, badly, very badly, frankly badly. And that nobody gives himself alluded. When they served the coffee us the initial suspicion had turned already into full certainty.
Besides good young boy - this way there were describing the high and seemed well young men the grandmothers of the postwar period who were singing Machín's black little angels-, Felipe de Borbón has the serene attitude, which is an indispensable requirement to convince the one who him asks of that he is sure of his answers. Answers, not monosyllables, because the monosyllable is or can be a simple exit of emergency for those to whom we celebrate his silences with this rattle of which the silences, all the silences, are wise. Answering is to fit. It is to answer. Well then, this serenity in the argued answers, crafty conciliadoras, the Prince does not lose it not even when some of them bring together before him certain republican verbs.
Beside using well the serenity, this indispensable tool in whom he exercises public trades and aspires to exercise them still major, the Prince is a person of rapid response, who does not flee of the irony. So that in the short distance Felipe de Borbón also demonstrates to possess this necessary sense of the humor, which probably is an inheritance borbónica. If the question is not prepared, the rapid and intelligent response is a demonstration of which who the release has learned to think to the speed that we demand the journalists when we ask.
The worse thing that can happen to a republican is that a prince answers him to necessary questions, that is to say, questions that treat of common and urgent realities, much better than any republicans of lounge. Then, the republican, if he wants to be sincere, is not necessary that apparent conversion to the monarchy, but yes he must admit that some princes not only calm more than many republicans but, in addition, with them, if this way the sea bass allows it, it is possible to speak without previous script of almost quite: of policies, of cavas or even of Stephen Frears, who is the director of The Queen, this movie that probably is not quite it celebrated that deserves.
