Carl Philip and Oscar Kylberg's interview in Frankfurter Allgemeine Studio, the article also presents their work:
For the first time ever, Carl Philip Bernadotte and Oscar Kylberg opened their Stockholm studio to a journalist and a photographer. The exact location of their workspace is to remain a secret, partly for security reasons.
Bernadotte, born in 1979, and Kylberg, born in 1972, studied graphic design at Forsberg School in Stockholm. The older man was a kind of mentor to the younger. "I was already working", says Oscar. "You were still studying. We had mutual friends. And then you also became interested in design". Carl Philip adds: "Exactly. And then our friends said, 'Oh, you should talk to Oscar.'"
Creativity runs in their blood: Carl Philip has Sigvard Bernadotte and Prince Eugen as his relatives. Oscar is a descendant of a large and extensive family of artists, the most famous is his great-grandfather, the painter Carl Oscar Kylberg (1878–1952). One of his most famous paintings is called "The Homecoming." It hangs in the Gothenburg Art Museum.
It's interesting to read about how they work together. Oscar says about Carl Philip: "You're very detail-oriented. And you're good at it. When we have to choose between nine different shades of blue, you take the time to look at them in different daylight and evening light, very meticulously, very precisely. I, on the other hand, am faster conceptually."

Bernadotte & Kylberg about their cabinets:
Every cabinet is numbered, engraved with its own identity.
A mark of authenticity—and of the hands that shaped it

They had a visitor, a great photo!:
Today we had a beautiful visitor, reminding us that personality can complete a space!

"Slow down. Savor the moment.
Give the gift that invites calm and beauty into their everyday—an heirloom of Nordic sophistication."

Clarion Hotel Sign, Stockholm’s largest hotel, announced in June a collaboration with Bernadotte & Kylberg. The collaboration involved a new design of three signature suites on the hotel’s top floor.

Bernadotte & Kylberg today at its Instagram:
"Crafted with precision. Our design collaboration with Clarion Hotel Sign will be revealed December 3rd."

Carl Philip and Oscar Kylberg invited Svensk Damtidning to an exclusive viewing of their new signature “Stratum Suites” at Clarion Hotel Sign in Stockholm.
They have developed furniture and adapted the interior to the structure of the rooms. Among other things, they have created an attractive workspace with a panoramic view of Stockholm.
“Stratum means levels and, as you know, we are quite high up. Among other things, we have redesigned the part here, which was not elevated before. It was an area we saw and found. We managed to raise it up and make our own office area,” says Carl Philip proudly.

"We proudly introduce the Stratum Suites for Clarion Hotel Sign.
A design shaped through Swedish craftsmanship, material exploration and layered expression.
From the first sketches to full-scale prototypes, every curve, texture and junction has been refined with intention. The new suites, together with a bespoke furniture collection, are built on the idea of strata: layers of form, light and tactility working together to create calm, sculptural spaces.
This is design born from our process. Crafted to be experienced."

On the highest floor of Clarion Hotel Sign, Stratum Suites opens: three new signature suites created in close collaboration between the hotel and Bernadotte & Kylberg. The result is interiors where each part is carefully shaped and where the focus on Swedish design and craftsmanship deepens the hotel's design identity.
David Viklund, General Manager at Clarion Hotel Sign: – Stratum Suites is our most extensive design effort to date. Here, art, architecture and light are united into a cohesive whole. We are proud to be able to offer an experience that feels both intimate and magnificent.
The suites' outermost tip is a beautiful but functionally challenging surface. In Stratum Suites, Bernadotte & Kylberg has turned this architectural challenge into a strength. Through exclusively designed furniture and a precisely adapted room structure, the tip has been transformed into one of the suites' most sought-after places: a workspace with a panoramic view of Stockholm.
Oscar Kylberg, CEO of Bernadotte & Kylberg: – We have taken as our starting point the location and the distinctive architecture that Clarion Hotel Sign carries. The goal was to create something that feels natural here - functional, harmonious and with respect for the outstanding view.

On the top floor of Clarion Hotel Sign, Stratum Suites are now opening – three new signature suites designed in close collaboration between the hotel and the design duo Bernadotte & Kylberg. The result is a series of rooms where Swedish design, craftsmanship and architecture come together in a harmonious whole, with Stockholm as the ever-present backdrop.

On Wednesday evening, Travel News was on hand to witness the press launch of Stratum Suites — a series of exclusive signature suites created by design studio Bernadotte & Kylberg in collaboration with Clarion Hotel Sign. Located at the top of the hotel, these suites have been designed to offer a unique, design-oriented stay in the heart of Stockholm.

Clarion Hotel Sign och Bernadotte & Kylberg lanserar Stratum Suites _ INREDNINGSnyheter.se

Fun opening of the new Stratum Suits at Clarion Sign in Stockholm tonight!! Bernadotte & Kylberg has delivered a fantastic design! A new landmark in Stockholm!!

Stratum Suites at Clarion Hotel Sign — a project that feels like a new chapter for Stockholm’s design scene. On floors 8, 9 and 10, with the city sparkling below, the three new suites were presented, created in collaboration between Carl Philip Bernadotte, Oscar Kylberg and hotel director David Viklund. This is Swedish design at its most thoughtful, precision-controlled and harmonious.
Stepping into the suites was like seeing an architectural problem become the solution itself. The triangular tip of the building, which was previously difficult to furnish, Bernadotte & Kylberg have transformed into the suites' most coveted spaces: workspaces where chrome details catch the light and the view feels almost floating. Here, function and aesthetics meet in a way that really lands.
Stratum Suites opened for booking on December 4 and I dare say they are already future design classics.

The opening of the incredible Stratum Suites by Bernadotte & Kylberg at Clarion Hotel Sign.
We are very proud and honored to have been entrusted with the framing of the three new suites.
It was a very nice experience to see the paintings in the fantastic environment that Bernadotte & Kylberg created in collaboration with Clarion Hotel Sign.

Stratum Collection is rooted in the distinctive architecture of Clarion Hotel Sign. The building’s triangular form became a defining principle in the structure of the furniture, where geometry informs the lines, intersections, and proportions. (...)
Stratum Collection will be available for purchase in spring 2026.

Carl Philip and Oscar Kylberg spoke with Elle about Stratum Suites. Carl Philip says:
– For me, it’s a lot about the expectations you have for a hotel stay. If you’re just going to come in late, sleep a couple of hours and leave early, then the requirements are low. But a weekend stay in a big city, then there should be a feeling, an atmosphere. It’s less a specific hotel that inspired and more a whole of impressions over the years. The collection is called Stratum, and it’s handmade in Sweden. We’re incredibly proud of that – both the steel, wood and upholstery are made by Swedish craftsmen. (..)

Oscar Kylberg at his Instagram:
"Happy New Design Year!!
When I look back on 2025, we do so with great gratitude and pride. As one of the founders behind Bernadotte & Kylberg Design, I can honestly say that this has been a truly exceptional year. We have had more design assignments than ever before and have had the opportunity to work on projects that have been recognized far beyond our own studio, city & country. It is a clear testament to the long-term commitment, curiosity and uncompromising view of design that permeates everything we do.
None of this would have been possible without the people around us. I would like to extend a warm and sincere thank you to our fantastic employees (World class!), our skilled suppliers and producers – and not least to our customers. You are a crucial part of our journey. Through your trust, your visions and the challenges you give us, we have the opportunity to develop, refine our expression and constantly push the boundaries of what good design can be. We grow together with you.
With great humility and even greater energy, we now look forward to 2026 and the years beyond. We are already in the midst of several exciting projects that will soon see the light of day, and we look forward to continuing to create design that is relevant, sustainable and meaningful. Thank you for a fantastic 2025 – we look forward to everything that awaits❣️ Let’s go 2026"
