Together with the Prince Couple's Foundation Prince Carl Philip was in Seattle from March 25 to 27:

Here we go!The Prince and Princess Foundation's Secretary General Helene Öberg, our Operations Manager Micaela Jonsson and Project Manager Matilda Westerman are on their way to Seattle. The trip is being arranged by The Prince and Princess Foundation together with Microsoft and it takes place together with representatives from universities, authorities and think tanks. The purpose of the trip is to increase our strategic competence to be a leader in children's rights and innovative AI solutions linked to our areas of activity - dyslexia with a focus on children's rights and online safety. We are looking forward to exciting days with lots of new knowledge and will of course share it with you regularly on our social channels. What would you like to know more about when it comes to AI and children's rights?

During our visit to Seattle, The Prince Couple Foundation, together with one of our founders, Prince Carl Philip, is conducting study visits based on the two areas of activity, online safety and dyslexia. The first visit was to Hamlin Robinson School, a school for students with dyslexia and language disorders. We were able to visit one of the school's two (!) libraries and see how the librarians work with the children's love of reading. They particularly highlighted the importance of letting the students encounter different types of books. In the different classrooms, we met students who testified about how important it had been for them to come to a school where they could finally learn to read properly - thanks to the right methods. The school staff presented the methods they use and talked about the importance of allowing students to succeed and how they work to give the children self-confidence.It was an important and wonderful visit that we will carry with us for a long time.Thank you Stacy Turner for a wonderful welcome and a for all your hard work. We look forward to staying in touch and continuing to collaborate around issues regarding children and dyslexia!

On Wednesday, The Prince Couple's Foundation, and our founder Prince Carl-Philip, visited Microsoft EBC.During the visit, we had the opportunity to learn about facts about AI, strategic perspectives on the importance of AI for societal development, and which abilities will be important for new generations. We also received practical briefings on how AI can be used in everyday life. The conversations during the day included how AI can be used to adapt test situations to accessibility, and to what extent children's rights and voices are taken into account in the development of new services.Jenny Lay-Flurrie, Chief accessibility officer at Microsoft, touched us all with her briefing on how much value Microsoft places on neurodiversity and how they design both recruitment and the work environment to be more inclusive. There is a lot of assistive technology that can be used in everyday work to overcome obstacles and simplify the way we communicate. The foundation would like to extend a big thank you to Microsoft for the educational visit. Special thanks to Kate Maxwell, General Manager of the Worldwide Education industry at Microsoft who started the day with a strategic overview, and then was so generous with her time and stayed with us throughout the day. We look forward to welcoming you to Stockholm. Also a big thank you to Microsoft’s Education Lead Mia Forsäng, Public Sector Lead Jennica Andersson and General Manager Public Sector Western Europe Olivier Desquesses for inviting and planning such a valuable visit. AI will be crucial in both of our business areas and it means a lot that you enable us to gain insight into your development processes and all the potential it can bring.

And Carl Philip about the trip:

Together with our foundation @prinsparetsstiftelseI was in Seattle last week together with representatives from universities, authorities and think tanks. We visited schools, companies and organizations to discuss how AI solutions can contribute to societal development within our focus areas - safer online life and dyslexia with a focus on children's rights, and to find collaborations and synergies with those who are world leaders in these issues.A very educational journey that will contribute to our long-term work in @prinsparetsstiftelse
