Huge momentum of coverage saying Andrew will “give up” Duke of York title- Telegraph, DM, Sun etc all reporting its “imminent”. Either something has been agreed or its a coordinated strategy to make Andrew feel ultimate pressure to do so.

Prince Andrew is set to give up all of his titles, including the Duke of York, the Telegraph understands.
The development follows a string of new scandals concerning his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and his relationship with an alleged Chinese spy.
It is understood he will put all his titles “in abeyance” having come under huge pressure from the King.
He will also give up his membership of the Order of the Garter but will, however, remain a prince, having been born the son of Elizabeth II.
The Duke’s ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York, will also relinquish her title and will be known simply as Sarah Ferguson.

Several of the papers are reporting that the King is "considering" removing Andrew's title of Duke of York. This has all happened in the last few hours. "A royal source" apparently told the Times about this. The Telegraph, though, is saying that Andrew will give up the title, which seems more likely to me: I can't see how he can be stripped of his title when he hasn't actually been convicted of anything.

Likely it’ll be the same thing he did w/ his HRH - he stopped using it in any official capacity but never actually gave it up.
He could no longer ‘use’ DOY in any official capacity. Since he doesn’t do anything official anymore anyway, NBD, except to his pride. He could still insist his staff & friends call him DOY in private & maintain that status in the family. Forbidding Sarah from using the title, OTH, might have an impact on her many money making schemes which all rely on it.
Of course the Duke’s murky financial dealings are private, so, if true, it’s a meaningless gesture which I assume the RF hopes will placate the public long enough for this to blow over &/or will stop actual consequences/scrutiny from the government.

He has given up his titles

"In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family. I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.

"With His Majesty's agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me."

He will remain "Prince Andrew" but give up "The Duke of York" title and Garter. Beatrice and Eugenie will retain their titles. Sarah will be simply "Sarah Ferguson"

I wonder if Beatrice and Eugenie will still use “of York” in their titles or will drop that part given today’s news.

My goodness! That is quite a change, but it makes the best of a bad situation. He has to remain Prince Andrew. I’m glad that Sarah Ferguson will be just that. I hope we see no more of them, other than perhaps at close family funerals - where they should be much in the background. I’m glad that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie retain their titles - it seems they, at least, have done little wrong.

Since getting married they have not used "of York" but added their married names instead - only the media keep calling the "of York".

Yes I assume they will just use "Princess Beatrice, Mrs Mopelli Mozzi" and "Princess Eugenie, Mrs Brooksbank"
