Congrats to Beatrice, Pierre and their boys!
I didn't expect it! I was sure the Casiraghi siblings were done with children and any further grandchild for Caroline would have been Alexandra's.
Beatrice joins Claire of Luxembourg and Sofia of Sweden in the club of Royal women who blindsided me with their happy news

She’s very pretty & happy, yes I do see a baby bump. Hopefully their daughter will be both beautiful & kind.
 
That's good news. I'm sure she'll be a beautiful girl.
She'll be Princess Caroline's second granddaughter.
 
What joy for the family, whatever they choose to name her it will come as no surprise to anyone when she arrives a beautiful baby girl - a beautiful girl for a beautiful family
 
Who is Inga Griesa? And did she think it was public knowledge that Beatrice is pregnant and expecting a daughter or was she specifically picked to unofficially release this information?
 
Inga Griesa is the founder of Icon Magazine, Beatrice was interviewed and had a nice photoshoot with them back in December. If it was a faux pas or an intentional disclosure, only she and Beatrice know.
 
I expect they will stay with a classical Italian name as they did with their sons.

The baby has been confirmed to be a girl, fingers crossed that we get Grace Jr. or at least Grace as a middle name (don't think any of the great-granddaughters have it as a middle name yet but I could be wrong).

I'd much rather see Grace if we get a reused name. Maybe Grace Caroline Paola (Beatrice's mother's name) Casiraghi.

The Italian forms of Grace are Grazia and Graziella, maybe they could use one of those.

The main and most important thing is that she will have an easy pregnancy and have a healthy child. Being 40 is still a risk in pregnancy even though medicine has made lots of progress. That's all I am wishing them at the moment.
 
Well there is one thing for sure, that baby girl is going to be beautiful!

I am genuinely curious as to why users feel strongly that Grace would be nice as a name. Yes she was Pierre’s grandmother, but she died years before he was born. He never knew her or loved her.

Grace Kelly was a cultural icon and deserves to have a descendant named after her. Albert II of Belgium didn’t know Queen Astrid but still named his daughter after her.

I agree about her being a cultural icon but we can differ on the opinion that this leads to her “deserving” to have a descendant named for her. Two of her granddaughters have Grace as a middle name.

Hurray! Pierre and Beatrice have the MOST beautiful boys...they literally resemble archangels. I can't wait to see their beauty genes transferred to their daughter.😉

And Caroline will finally have another granddaughter...so happy for the Casiraghi-Grimaldi!

I was convinced that Pierre and Beatrice had completed their family.😉

What lovely news. I think if the child would be named after a relative, it would be from the Italian side, I think.
 
I wouldn't be surprised to see a nod to Pierre's late grandmother was Fernanda Biffi as one of the baby's names.

It’s generally acknowledged that the “Grace Kelly effect” made a real difference on the economy and cultural reputation of Monaco. The status of the Rainier family and its financial situation were both considerably improved after Grace married into the family. Naming a child for her makes sense.
 
Isn't Camille's.second name Grace? Or I'm wrong ?
Also we have Jasmine Grace so the name is being given to a grandchild.

Let’s be honest, without Grace, we wouldn’t be interested in the family, they wouldn’t be as prominent as they are & they wouldn’t have the physical Kelly genes that people take note of. No one in the family has had the lasting effect that she has. They owe everything to her. I would think that they’d be proud to name a child after her.
