Our Story - The POLG Foundation
A reference to the POLG foundation is made in the HOLA article as well. Apparently, when prince Frederik was 14 years old they found out that he had this rare illness that they describe as 'a genetic disorder that robs the body’s cells of energy, in turn causing organ dysfunction and failure' and 'It is as if Frederik has a faulty battery that never fully recharges and is in a constant state of depletion.'.

Robert and Julie are the co-founders of the foundation and Frederik himself now works for the foundation as creative director.
