A lovely man. The obituary is very interesting and sets out why I don't shop at Garrard any more - its new owners [an American private equity firm] dispensed with its tradtional image, appointing Jade Jagger as its designer etc,

Fascinating what you learn - HLM advised the correct way to position the Imperial State Crown when being transported on the cushion in the processional coach - apparently HLM told him the correct position was to make sure that the Cullinan diamond that was incorporated in the Crown should always face the horses!
