(..)

I would imagine that a visit in person would be better for both daughter and mother as opposed to a phone call or zoom.

Great that she was able to visit (hope others in a similar situation would also be given that opportunity) - but MM doesn't look good imho.

Mette-Marit looks tired and pale… Though who wouldn’t in her situation with both her eldest child and her own health in question…

Great to see that she got to spend time with Ingrid who is no doubt also affected by everything else that is going on in her family…

A PR visit.
In the photos and videos it looks like she just rolled out of bed. No effort was made for her hair and makeup. Of course no one is expecting full glam but at least some effort should have been made.

The Crown Princess did indeed look tired and pale but it was wonderful too see her back.
MM hasn't had the easiest of times of late with her health issues and her wayward son.

The visit was part of Mette-Marit's 50th birthday gifts

Well Im sure everyone enjoyed the lunch with no pesky press, both the goverment who is at the record low popularity and the RF have had a terrible 6 months. Nice they show a video, usually it is no photos from this annual lunch, but the video is rather strange when they change the format from standing to horisontal several times.😕

For the visit to the hospital Ingrid Alexandra was accompanied by her aid de camp Frederik Ness Engh from the navy. Her mother had her private secretary/personal assistant.

More Photos/video

Do they not have their own photographer, who could take pics at such Events.

Yes I guess someone at the communications office took it, but they are now getting a new court photographer/content producer, apparantly more than 450 applied so we can hope for better video, photos and social media in 2025.

I think Mette-Marit shouldn't be in public at all now, especially not with the royal family. And they shouldn't use Ingrid-Alexandra to collect sympathy points. Mette-Marit should stay simply away from such events for a few months, so she will only makes angry the good-natured people.

I am also of the opinion that Mette-Marit should take a public hiatus for awhile… At least until the Marius-trial is underway and we know more if she has committed any crimes too…

Unfortunately that may be easier said than done as the Norwegian RF is extremly understaffed and is at risk at becoming even more understaffed pretty soon wirh 3 of its 5 working members being around the age of 90…

The Norwegian RF is in urgent need of a ”Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia” but they don’t have them….

Therefore they must start to introduce both Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus next year… Not as full time members as they both need to study but to start to take on duties on a part time basis to relive the heavy workload of their father, and to get used to all the state ceremonies so the people feel like they get to know them…
And also while Queen Sonja still has the strength to be there as a support for them…

Strangely Republican Dagbladet has dedicated their editorial to support for Ingrid Alexandra

[…]The Norwegian royal house is in crisis, but 67.2 percent of Norwegians still believe that Princess Ingrid Alexandra will queen one day, according to a Nettavisen survey published this week. She thus has broad support in the population, which should be encouraging news for royal houses
[….]
Confidence in the royal house has weakened. In addition, they are in a precarious staffing situation. […]

Ingrid Alexandra, on the other hand, is an unused resource, which in many ways can be considered the royal house's secret weapon. She obviously has a sense of humor and a bone in her nose, but is primarily unknown for the Norwegian population. It may not have been the original plan for how her journey towards queenship would turn out, but from a PR point of view it is probably wise for the royal house to direct more of the attention to her right now.

That she attends some events around Christmas is hardly big news, as she has done that before, but if they start flying her home from miltary training in Troms to attend events it would look strange and for PR purpose, and surly it would not be supprising if she would go abroad to study, so I dont expect many events from her, even if she is a press magnet with her natural ways and smile. It was a bit chaotic with all the press at the hospital, they seemd not prepared.

It means that you are tough and know what you want.😌its ment positivly.

If the constitution is changed as it is proposed after the election in autumn 2025 her role will be more defined and she can attend State Council and be regent, maybe she also will go to Stortingets opening.

Oh, maybe the closest English equivalent would be having “the bit between your teeth”.

It would be good for her to be able to be Regent, but I hope she didn’t want to study abroad anywhere. The two things don’t seem very compatible.

Today, December 14, Queen Sonja and Princess Astrid attended the Sølvguttene’s Christmas Concert at the Palace Chapel:
