Regarding some of the Princely families from Georgia (although some did also belong to the Russian nobility) I have a few questions of information I haven't found. Hopefully someone can give me the answers I need.
  • Principality of Abkhazia: In what year is Prince Teimuraz Sharvashidze, since 2010 the hereditary prince of Abkhazia, born?
  • Princes Abashidze: Is this family exctinct? Since when and who was the last prince?
  • Princes Javakhishvili [Dzhavakov]: Since when were they raised to princes and Who is the current head of this princely family?
  • Princes Makaev/Makashvili: Was Prince Nicolai Makaev the last prince of this family, or who came after him? And when did Nicolai die?
  • Princes of Mingrelia: Who is the current heir to the former throne of the Principality of Mingrelia? Perhaps Levan VI Dadiani or Niko III Dadiani, or maybe someone else? And when is he born?
  • Princes of Lower Svanetia: The Principality of Lower Svaneti ended in 1858 by the annexation from Russia. Who was the last (15th?) Prince of Lower Svanetia of the House of Gelovani, and when did he live?
Thank you all very much for the replies!

Princes Abashidze:

The Abashidze family is not extinct. They were a prominent Georgian noble family, and their princely status was confirmed by the Russian Empire on September 20, 1825.

Princes Javakhishvili [Dzhavakhov]:

The Javakhishvili family was recognized as princes in the Russian Empire. The current head of the family is not publicly documented.

Princes Makaev/Makashvili:

Information about Prince Nicolai Makaev and his death is limited. The Makashvili family remains notable in Georgia, but specific details about succession are scarce.

Princes of Mingrelia:

The Dadiani family ruled the Principality of Mingrelia. After the Russian annexation, the title became ceremonial. Levan VI Dadiani and Niko III Dadiani were notable figures, but current heirs are not officially recognized.

Princes of Lower Svanetia:

The Principality of Lower Svaneti ended in 1858 with Russian annexation. The last prince from the House of Gelovani was Constantine (Kote) Gelovani, who lived during that period.

Information about Georgian - and also Russian - princely families is even more difficult to find, at least that is what I have found out. Therefor finding the last or current head of those houses seems nearly impossible.

Regarding the Gelovani family - as former Princes of Lower Svanetia - you mention Konstantin (Kote) as being the last ruler of Lower Svanetia. Do you perhaps also know his year of birth and death?
Although they didn't rule anymore since 1858, the familiy itself didn't exctint and (as far as I know) still exists today and still have the princely status, which means there is also a (current) head of that family. Do you perhaps know who that is?
