I wonder when we will see Princess Ingrid Alexandra attending the nobel peace prize ceremony? I thought she would attend this year because she is now 18 years old.

I don't know, but maybe as Crown Princess.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize for 2023 to Narges Mohammadi for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all. Her brave struggle has come with tremendous personal costs. Altogether, the regime has arrested her 13 times, convicted her five times, and sentenced her to a total of 31 years in prison and 154 lashes. Ms Mohammadi is still in prison as I speak.

I have two questions do do:
1st question- Why MM is wearing black today?
2nd question- Why are they wearing headphones? Don't they know French?

1) There is no particular reason I think. Perhaps she just felt like wearing black. ?

2) The King and the CP-Couple are not fluent in French and were, therefore, wearing headphones.
The Queen OTOH is fluent in French and was, therefore, not wearing them.

Before the Award Ceremony, the King gave an audience to the daughter and son of the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Narges Mohammadi, who is in prison in Iran.
The Queen and the CP-Couple were also in attendance.

Please listen to the above press release which is in English. The committees' choice to award the Japanese organisation Nihon Hidankyo could not be more timely.
 
According to the calendar at the website, only Haakon and Mette-Marit attend the official dinner for the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate on October 10.

Kongeparet dropper Nobel

Utdelingen av Nobel fredspris er et årlig høydepunkt for kongeparet. Nå ser det ut til at de dropper den høytidelige feiringen. Det kan være flere årsaker til det.

The dinner is still 2 weeks away, so a little strange that they already decided that the king and queen will skip the dinner-part of this most high-profile international yearly event. And as Mette Marit had to cancel today, her presence is doubtful as well.

There are 4 events scheduled that day; Haakon and Mette Marit are expected to attend all four and the king and queen only the middle 2:

10.12.2024 Redd Barnas fredsprisfest - DD.KK.HH. Kronprinsen og Kronprinsessen besøker Redd Barnas fredsprisfest på Nobels Fredssenter i Oslo (11.30).

10.12.2024 Audiens - H.M. Kongen mottar representanter for årets fredsprisvinner, den japanske organisasjonen Nihon Hidankyo, i audiens. H.M. Dronningen og DD.KK.HH. Kronprinsen og Kronprinsessen vil også være til stede (12.00).

10.12.2024 Nobels fredspris 2024 - DD.MM. Kongen og Dronningen er til stede ved utdelingen av Nobels fredspris til den japanske organisasjonen Nihon Hidankyo. DD.KK.HH. Kronprinsen og Kronprinsessen vil også være til stede (Oslo Rådhus, 13.00).

I dag mottok den japanske organisasjonen Nihon Hidankyo Nobels fredspris for sin innsats for en atomvåpenfri verden og for å vitne om hvorfor atomvåpen aldri må brukes igjen.

For me it is a little bit strange that the 2024 laureate of the Nobel Peace Prize will not be received by the Swedish Royal Family. The calender shows nothing about that.

The three co-chairs of Nihon Hidankyo, who received the prize in Oslo, are 82, 84 and 92 years old. Perhaps they just want to travel straight home after the celebrations.

I believe she will attend the Nobel Peace Prize when becoming Crown Princess. If I was wrong, no grandchild of a monarch has attended
 
As Princess Ingrid Alexandra is in the army and goes on christmas-leave on 12 December, it was not possible for her to attend… I doubt she wants any special treatment
