Mette-Marit's visit to Switzerland April 25-26

Here is a thread for Mette-Marit's visit to Switzerland over the next two days in her role as a special representative for UNAIDS.

Mette-Marit and Sverre Magnus took the plane from Oslo to Zürich but prefered the train from Zürich to Geneva. According to VG Mette-Marit still is not comfterble with flying in small planes abroad. They were also accompanied by a nanny who will take care of Sverre Magnus while she is at the UN

They were met by Norways ambassador to the UN Wegger Christian Strømmen just before midnight.

Mette-Marit is very beautiful, and i've always like her, and yes.. she can be very stylish if she try to be, and today is one of them.. so bravo!!
and she colour-match her outfit with the aids-ribbon logo of unaids, plus.. you can see on this picture, she had a tiny red ribbon on her upper left suit.

She will also go to the World Congress on AIDS in Toronto which is held 13-18 August 2006

Haakon will probably also go, the position as UNAIDS special representative is for now for two years and both sides can ask to have it prolonged, it is expected that she will make several trips with UNAIDS theese two years, she will especially focus on youth and young grown ups

Oh, great! She's avoided all the usual pitfalls - NO dark shiny pantyhose, NO baggy dark jackets! Wow. She looks amazing.

It is great to see her back at work and looking great too. I must hand it to her! It looks like she brought along her baby and traveling with an infant is not easy. It is great to see royal parents so hands on. Bravo!

I'm also glad that she has taken lessons and has done an internship for this cause and is not just lending her "name and pretty face" to try and raise money for them. Good for her! I wish more RF's would follow in her footsteps.

This evening Mette-Marit is having a private dinner with Dr Peter Piot and 6 other people in his home. Dr Piot is born in Belgium and has a PhD from the university of Antwerpen in microbilogy, he was part of the team that discovered the ebola virus

ITA. Mette-Marit has become very educated on HIV/AIDS through her studies in London, her work at NORAD, and her trip to Malawi. I'm sure this knowledge will be very useful in her work.
