Marius Borg Høiby News & Current Events Part 2: February 2026 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
From today's testimony,
"Marius continues to attack his ex: "Nora never admits anything. She's an expert at blaming others." Lawyer Reisvang counters: "And you? Do you ever admit your guilt?" Marius replies: "Oh, yes, I do.""

Well, so far we have seen Marius blame the press and his "tough" childhood, and of course those women that just made him angry.

I've see him more angry and defensive against Nora, who is accusing him of physically abusing her. Against the possible victims of rape and recording them without their knowledge, his whole defense was that he doesn't remember and that he doesn't have s*x with sleeping women, even when face with video evidence.

Marius claims he has lost most of his friends due to the press.
"- Because of the portrayal and the massive, massive attention. No one wants to be associated with me. No one wants to be seen with me. No one dares to go to the store with me, replied Marius.
- Of those I considered my closest, I have no contact with 95 percent today, he added. "

I think he can't separate his hatred of the press vs the accusations, trail. Like if the press wouldn't report on his actions, the justice system would just leave him alone??

""Everything that was said in the interrogation was in the newspaper the next day," Marius said in court, claiming that he knows "who leaked it."
Marius further explained that the reason he did not say everything during questioning by the police was that things were leaked to the press. "

"Marius was asked how he experienced media reports that he did not care, did not want to be questioned by the police, and instead lived a life of luxury.
Marius answered tearfully:
- That life in the hustle and bustle that these media have written about. I mean, I'm so cursed that I have no words. I sat and isolated myself and was f*cking alone. I mean, I had visitors here and there, but it's the hardest time of my life. Without a doubt. And then I sit and get yelled at for being observed here and there."

and for all of us who were wondering why he would go on so many vacations since his first arrest,
"- Well, I must be allowed to go on vacation and get away from this stupid house. I must be allowed to try to live a somewhat normal life instead of sitting all alone, replied Marius. "

I suppose that is because the 2 other victims, if I understood it correctly, only met Marius casually (i.e, they didn't really know him). Nora, on the other hand, was in a relationship with Marius (in fact, they were domestic partners). That adds a very different perspective, both for the abuser and the victim.

He is the tearful "poor me", people, the press have mistreated him, the girlfriend has used him to get more followers, he makes it look like he is the victim.

Marius appears to think that everything that has happened resulting in the position he finds himself now is someone else’s fault, the victims, society, lawyers, the media, even his former ‘friends’. ‘And why shouldn't I go on holiday. I can’t stand things otherwise!’ Privileged, entitled and completely divorced from the real world!
Below is a comparison made by the ABC of the Scandinavian prison set up and the penal system in Aus (and GB and the US.)

There appears to be something wrong with my monitor. All I can read are: bou-hou and poor little me.

Not that I get a particular positive impression of Haukland either, to be brutally honest. We have a saying in DK: Krage søger mage = Crow seek a mate = You end up with someone like yourself.
Was Marius a terrible, abusive and violent partner in that relationship? Yes, I'm in no doubt. Was Haukland calculating in this relationship? I very much suspect she was.

I wanted to make another comment about what Marius said regarding Nora. It is clear to me that he wants to excuse his verbal and physical abuse of her by saying she acted inappropriately and embarassed the Royal Family by posting pictures in her underwear or whatever it was on Instagram.

The main point to me is that it is never an excuse for shouting what he did at her. He cannot deny this because there is a recording, so he found an excuse. I don't know if the words he used are allowed here, but everyone can look it up.

Secondly, it is not as though Marius was living a conservative lifestyle by any measure, so it is ridiculous to me that he expected his girlfriend to dress conservatively, otherwise the Royal Family would be embarassed. Try to spend your life doing something other than partying, doing drugs and committing crimes then, Marius.

Leah Behn is also an influencer and on her Instagram page, there are plenty of bikini pictures for instance. It is very interesting then that Marius claims such things are inappropriate for the extended Royal Family. I am not saying that it is ideal for any Royal Family to have influencers in the family, but it is a mute point to have higher expectations of Marius' girlfriend than the King's granddaughter and sixth in line to the throne.

Just an excuse for him to have control over her. Typical abuser behavior. - And symptomatic for a little man with little self-esteem.
He felt very offended by by the mere suggestion that Haukland should look down on him for not having an education, or a proper job, let alone a career. - And that was probably IMO an issue with other girlfriends as well.
Whether Haukland did poke him between the ribs in regards to his lacking accomplishment is an open question. Possibly, people say many things in the heat of an argument.

Anyway, I can't understand why anyone would find him remotely charming, let alone sweet.

----------------

But one of Marius friends (who happens to have a criminal record and lives in Dubai) can't understand why anyone would be scared of Marius. He gave his testimony in court yesterday. LIVE Retssagen mod Marius Borg Høiby fortsætter: Nu skal han igen forklare sig
The same friend said that Marius has a tendency to fall in love with the wrong kind of women, the demanding ones. And that Marius has a need for being acknowledged.

However a friend of Haukland esplaind how she saw Marius pushing Haukland up against a door, with a firm grip around her upper arms and later advised Haukland to stay away from Marius.

Another friend during filming in Spain, noticed hearing hearing Haukland being very upset in her hotel room during the nights and the producer was told about it
The producer then told Haukland to break up now, or the producer would do something. And to report it.

The friend was also at the receiving end of Marius anger, which led to him sending her very offensive texts, which I probably shouldn't repeat here. As well as calling at her and roaring at her on the phone.

A male witness saw Marius grab Haukland around her neck and spit in her face.

Is ANYONE advising Maurius ? About even the simplest strategy for his *demeanor- behavior* in Court.
Show some respect, number one, by not swearing. How hard is that ?

Two, do not cry and claim victim hood by stating " I am SO CURSED I have no words" Wow, unbelievable self pitying perspective there, Buddy !

Then his off the Chart reasoning for the Vacations, " I MUST be allowed to go on Vacations to get away from this STUPID House, instead of sitting here all alone".

He is an troubled and unstable person, who either was innately temperamently arrogant - entitled OR brought up never hearing the word NO. With boundaries and consequences. Maybe both.

In The M.M. Documentary in 2011, to mark her 10 years as Crown Princess, remember that she stated....Its been important for Me to determine that I am the one who makes the choices during my life, AND OTHERS HAVE TO ADAPT.
Sounds just her Son's attitude towards life and choices. Me, Me, Me....

Now this day of the trial has come to an end.
Muhler has already reported on it. My impression: we are immersed in the world of female influencers in Norway, which of course now exists in every country. Three of them took the stand today and described their impression of the toxic relationship between Marius and Nora. They agree that Nora suffered greatly in the relationship; she certainly had feelings for him, just as he did for her. But HE was the one who had the outbursts of anger, he was the one who hit and strangled her. Even though he portrays himself as the poor victim.
I still believe that he suffers from very serious psychological problems, lack of impulse control, feelings of inferiority, both of which then erupt in physical and psychological violence. Added to this is a contempt for women, although it sometimes comes across that he actually wants to be loved. But he has no idea how to behave if he wants to be liked.
In addition to his criminal tendencies, which will certainly be addressed later in the trial (I hope), he has a very serious psychological problem that needs to be treated if he is hopefully sentenced to prison.

Sometimes it is difficult to bear reading these reports. I often wonder why women put up with such a violent, drug-addicted man in the first place. But that is the women's decision, and I am not in a position to judge how much a woman can or must endure in a relationship because she is dependent on this man due to other constraints. However, that is not the case in Nora's situation.

Economic abuse isn’t the only reason an abuse victim doesn’t leave have an abusive relationship.

A good short summary on this issue: 11 Reasons Why People in Abusive Relationships Can't "Just Leave" - One Love Foundation

I hope Marius’ victims know that they don’t owe any explanation as to why they maintained any type of relationship with their abuser. It’s extremely brave of them to testify. I can’t imagine how scary this ordeal has been for them.

One of the friends of Marius that testified yesterday was questioned about influencing and contacting one of the victims, the Frogner woman.
This is the first victim that was reported on, the woman that was physically assaulted by Marius in August 2024 that led to his first arrest. She is the one that Marius keeps contacting even though there is a restraining order against. And also the one that Mette-Marit contacted after Marius was arrested.

"– Did you have contact with her in that regard?
– Yes, then I contacted her. Or she contacted me. I'm not sure, we talk a little bit now and then.
– Did you give her any advice about what she should say to the police about the investigation of the case?
– Eh, what if I gave her advice? We've talked about the matter. Should I say that? Yes, we've talked about the matter.
– I ask very specifically, did you give her advice on what to say to the police during questioning?
– I don't remember that.
– You don't remember?
– No.
– Could you have said that she had to say she exaggerated and it was Marius who was right.
– No, I couldn't have said that.
– And she also said – she asks me for advice.
– You explain yourself under witness liability. I assume you have not given her advice, says Mette Yvonne Larsen."

the restraining order has been extended

Here is a scary thought: I'm quite positive that Marius is getting lots of advice on how to speak in Court.

I think this is him at his best, under the circumstances. He's probably never had to answer for his actions before in his life. I also suspect he may be involuntarily detoxing from alcohol and drugs, which is likely putting him on edge.

Marius isn't a witness that I would want to prep for trial testimony.

Eh....the Frogner woman is the one that also keeps breaking the restraining order and hanging out with Marius, right? So....meh. He's in jail now anyways, so they can't physically see each other anyway.

I wonder if it extends to phone calls?
The line with influencing/intimidating a victim can be thin.

I don’t understand the conclusion… This friend clearly did influence the victim and gave her lots of advice hoping to absolve Marius somehow.

Interesting article:
Little by little, it emerges during the trial: What kind of power Marius has actually had in recent years
He does not belong to the royal family. Has no public role and no formal power. He describes an upbringing he did not choose, with a celebrity status he did not create. He constantly portrays himself as a kind of victim, powerless in the face of social expectations, the Norwegian press and people who want to use him for "fame." I don't doubt for a second that Marius has experienced life like this. His story is his story, and it's easy to sympathize with a upbringing in a golden cage. Still, whether he was conscious of it or not: Marius has had power. A lot of power. (...)

Poor little Marius. Has he done anything to make a life of his own? He seems to like the perks of that golden cage but has done little to separate himself from it.

It certainly seems clear that Marius, and most likely Ingrid and MM, don't see any inherit problem with Marius doing drugs and being violent towards his girlfriends. To them the problem is only because of his connection to the Royal Family and subsequent media attention

The Norwegian royal family is only well known in Scandinavian countries. Marius could live anywhere else in the world and instantly be unrecognizable. He did live in LA for a short time. I always wondered if he left because in LA he wasn't special, or even notably rich- it's a playground for millionaires.

Personally, and this isn't limited to Marius, I am so tired of the narrative that if you aren't in line to inherit the crown, your life is so terrible. Marius could have been anything he wanted to be in life, but a King. He chose to do nothing with his life despite every privilege and opportunity.

Absolutely, he was given ample opportunity to excel in life but chose to lead a life without any semblance of morality. Frankly, I blame his mother Mette-Marit and her horrid association with Epstein. Clearly, she has not had a good influence neither on her son nor on the Crown Family

Her conversation with Nora & wanting him to have a wallpaper that objectifies women lead me to believe that she raised Marius to be the way he is. She doesn’t want him to get help & doesn’t care that he’s abuse towards his girlfriends. I’ve stated it before, his life would have a good chance of turning out differently if she didn’t raise him. I’m not excusing adult Marius or his own actions, but purposefully setting your son up in a life like this & continuing to trap him there says a lot.

New additional charges against Marius, he is now charged for 40 offenses
According to Nettavisen, a so-called additional charge has been brought for reckless behavior and violation of the restraining order.
Since he is already charged with far more serious matters, the two new charges in the indictment will not have much impact in terms of punishment when Marius is sentenced.
He was originally charged with knife threats and one count of bodily harm, the mildest form of violence, and with violating the restraining order against the Frogner woman. The woman's lawyer Mette Yvonne Larsen writes to Nettavisen that they believe the reckless behavior is correct. It is a serious case with twice the penalty as bodily harm and reflects the seriousness of the situation and the burden on the offended woman.
Marius' defense attorneys Ellen Holager Andenæs and Petar Sekulic said when they arrived in court today:
– He acknowledges the charges relating to reckless behavior and violation of the restraining order, says Sekulic.
– This means there will be no evidence and there will be time to include it in this trial, says Andenæs.

A few more details about the new charges and the incident that took place against the Frogner woman, two days before his trail began:
"It appears that he is accused of calling the injured woman, ..., an 'unfaithful whore', and he is also said to have shouted that he wanted to see her phone.
Then, according to the indictment, he allegedly smashed his phone in front of her and grabbed her and the door when she wanted to leave the apartment.
This resulted in her hitting her head on the door herself, it is said."

From the trail today.
"The witness continued: "There were numerous messages and phone calls between the defendant's mother and the victim. The defendant's stepfather was also involved. Among other things, it was about patching holes in the door, but also about getting the correct paint code for repainting." He was referring to damage in the apartment Marius and Nora once shared. Marius's outbursts of anger led to some damage, which the Crown Prince and Princess took care of..."
I wonder if they wondered how the damage got there.

Many witnesses today but one of the key ones was that man at the Olso festival that actually saw the choking incident between Marius and Nora.
"What I remember is the guy walking towards the girl. With his hand outstretched towards her upper chest, neck – he was grabbing her throat. I just thought, 'Absolutely not.' So I jumped in and stood between them."
Other people intervened. Some allegedly held Marius back, while others tried to calm Nora down. Marius reportedly tried to downplay the incident, according to the witness."

They probably called the father to testify about this, but not the cp couple, supposedly because they wouldn't add anything to the case. I haven't checked, but I'd be surprised if there aren't any articles about it, especially since they keep mentioning MM's constant calls.

Just this from today's trial, which says a lot.
And not only Nora was taken to holidays with the royal family, the "Frogner" woman as well. And I always thought, that most of those incidents with the abused women only happened in private homes or hotels. So much to Marius trying to protect the royal family and that the women had to "behave"...

At the Norwegian royal family's summer residence in Mågerø, during Queen Sonja's birthday celebration in July 2024, a humiliating incident allegedly occurred. According to the "Frogner" woman, Høiby urinated in the shower and urinated on her. She cried and eventually slapped him.
After an argument, Høiby allegedly spat in her face and slapped her. Arguments escalated on several occasions. Høiby allegedly threw objects, destroyed phones, and banged on walls. On one occasion, he is said to have snatched her laptop from her lap and broken it in two. In Skaugum, according to her statement, he smashed a glass door, and "blood was splattering everywhere."
On the night before his arrest on August 4, 2024, Høiby allegedly retrieved a knife and threatened to kill a man he suspected of having an affair with his girlfriend. He then choked her several times and hit her with his open hand.
