Marius Borg Høiby News & Current Events Part 1: December 2023 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Normally rehab takes 6 weeks. I think it's been around 4 weeks since he dropped out of sight, so that's shorter than I've experienced (I've had friends and a family member who went through it). 4 weeks means he didn't finish his last steps which means he will almost certainly relapse. I've seen it too many times.

Shame on his parents (all of them) and on Harald & Sonja, too. Not only have they failed to help Marius but they've exposed IA & SM to a very dysfunctional family situation.

Poor Nora. Of all the players in this drama she seems the most normal. The incident on the yacht was covered up, so was a lot of other terrible behavior that was inflicted on her. I hope that Marius is convicted and after that conviction she sues him civilly for every penny he's worth.

I want to see MM & Haakon held responsible as well. They covered this up for years, manipulated witnesses and evidence, misdirected the press and the people of Norway. I know it won't happen, they know it won't happen. But in a perfect world serious questions would be asked.

I'm a little perplexed about Snekkestad's mother getting involved, too. Her daughter is 29, not 19. It seems a little odd to have your mother call your ex's stepfather at that age. If there was some financial settlement involved, wouldn't lawyers have been better resources?

Juliane was 27, when she and Marius broke up. And although she was an adult, of course her mother was worried about her, especially since she obviously knew that Marius had abused her daughter. I understand very well that she called Haakon, as a parent to another, and told about what Marius had done, about the injuries he had caused to Juliane.

In a message to a friend, Marius allegedly admitted to having deleted the contents of his phone before the police arrested him. VG is informed about this.
The message was reportedly sent earlier on the same day that Marius was arrested for the second time at a cabin in Skeikampen in Gausdal in September. VG has been in contact with the person to whom Høiby is said to have sent the message. The person does not wish to comment on the matter.
Several of the evidence the police have in the criminal case have been found on Marius' digital devices.

There is a very good overview of the victims in this article and what happened to them.
Because it can sure be difficult to keep track sometimes!
Can't say I am surprised that Marius tried to erase his data and accounts. I look forward to hear him explaining why at the trial.

Are trials are televised in Norway like here in the USA?

... How bad was the situation that MM knew to go to the cabin and felt compelled to stay there?
...

Maybe she had a sudden urge to clean? ;)

Haakon and MM are not just ordinary parents. They are the Crown Prince Couple of Norway. That Marius since 2020 has been disruptive in the Royal Yacht, on the Crown Prince couple estate (inside the CP home, guard kiosk, stealing royal property and credit cards), and yet where are the consequences?
Why did he still have a diplomatic passport?
If the friend in August hadn't called the cops and taken the victim to the hospital, we would still have a Crown Prince Couple enabling this abusive behavior.

It's quite clear that the CP couple can no longer pretend to be uninvolved in this whole debacle. The claims seem to support the existence of a culture of enabling and cover-ups, which puts the CP couple in a very poor light. I'm really curious about the reactions in Norway, I feel the scrutiny against MM and Haako will increase significantly.

They did a poll a couple months ago and it hadn't seemed to affect their popularity yet. Maybe now that will change, but who knows....

At this point, MM and Haakon are as much to blame as Marius himself. Sadly, they see themselves and Marius as victims.

Delusional.

My feeling is that MM sees herself as to blame for Marius's outcome and that he is a victim of her choices. Which is very sad and understandable as a parent. The problem is that she is also the future Queen of Norway and is responsible for much more than Marius.

Wow, that's sort of like texting a friend, "I just robbed the First National Bank, but I got away with it! They'll never prove I did it now! Yay me!"

While it seems incredibly dumb, it's also self destructive. I have a feeling addiction and anger aren't this guy's only problems.

No, counting to twenty without taking his socks off may be another daily challenge he faces.

The irony is that Mette-Marit went on the offensive declaring that Marius is a regular private citizen. The reality is that he was never treated as such.
Were it not for his mother being Crown Princess Marius would've been busted by now for gross misdeeds. However, Mette-Marit sheltered Marius, enabled him, and hid his bad behavior.

Something went enormously wrong with Marius at the time when people find their own view of the world and of themselves in it. As he has a disturbed view of women (along or based at his mother) and a lot of violence (surely because of inner rage) , he feels he is entitled to taking drugs to get oblivious, hurting women, demean them and consort with cold-hearted gangsters. If only therapy would get him but I am convinced he sees it coming from his parents and thus it will denied as long as he can. Such a sad case.

Nora Haukland reacts to the fact that more details from the investigation are being mentioned in the press.
- I think for me, and everyone else who is affected by this case, it makes it so much more difficult to go to the police and talk about everything, because you are afraid things will be leaked to the media. It's so tiring. If there had been a break and it had only been the trial that I had to think about, my life would have felt normal. It's so heavy to see things being leaked, and you also wonder "what's next?", she says in a video on Snapchat.

This sounds a bit, like he is a hard man...

In Japan, the gangsters get a female figure tatooed to their back if they are too male, a male, if they appear a bit female. So they get tatooed, what they are rather not!

Marius has a lion tatooed...

Oh, I didn't mean it as if he was a tough, cold-hearted man. He is hurt, he has rages, he is weak und reacts with violence. Rather childish behaviour. A grown man should be able to see the problems his mother and stepfather have had and how the Royal family has loved him, even if some people did not.
It was a difficult situation but he was loved, so no need to throw tantrums and violate women. As for being a hard man: let's see how he survives in prison. If he has to do prison time.

It's a little hard to sympathize with Nora when she's saying these things on a private jet in a reality show.

Se og Hør writes that Marius landed at Gardermoen the day before his 28th birthday with a large load of luggage, which may indicate that his stay is over or on hold.
But Marius didn't come alone on the plane from London, by his side he had a young woman. Se og Hør knows that she has also spent some time in London and Marius and the woman are said to have had contact before Marius went abroad (..)

This lastest Se Og Hor article is ridiculous. It's one thing to report they saw Marius at the airport with a large load of luggage but they carry on and on going over his history of abuse, showing old pictures. We still have no confirmation where he's been; has it been in rehab in London.? Also reporting he was with a young woman. He lives a privileged life of chaos, does anyone care?

So he has another female companion! Did he learn anything at all during the counselling at the recent facility? He seems to have left after staying there for the minimum time. Words fail me really. At the beginning of this I used to think that a prison term would do him no good. But now I believe Marius need a sharp dose of reality.

But what about the woman, if it is true that this is another girlfriend? In a case like that I wouldn't have any pity for this woman.
But maybe she is a nurse, a social worker or a psychologist who is accompanying him on his way home to make sure that he arrives safely, before getting into other and/or more troubles. After such a short time he probably cannot be trusted and might still be in a state of mind which is not to be trusted.

Given that he is accused of serious maltreatment of previous girlfriends and other women, it is newsworthy that he is traveling with a female travel companion...
His long standing history and current legal status while awaiting trial that hopefully leads to conviction is very serious. That he was accompanied by a young woman, we have no idea who she is. Someone new that he can abuse? The article mostly gave us innuendo and very little concrete info.

If Marius was in rehab it wasn't nearly long enough for him to learn anything. I guess I want more concrete information not a rehash history of his most recent past. Abusing drugs and women is awful, doing nothing about it is awful. Of course we care but it gets so old. I guess I want to see justice.

The woman could be anybody. A girlfriend, a relative, a counselor, an attorney, someone from Mette-Marit's staff. Who knows?

Dagbladet writes that Marius is investigated for another assault, said to have occurred in Tønsberg in 2021.
Lawyer Ann-Iren Skjelbred assists the woman who has the status of the offended party in the case. The woman was called in for questioning as a witness in one of the other criminal cases against Marius. Based on the information that emerged from the witness questioning, the police decided to open a case. Skjelbred tells that it is a case that is being investigated as a sexual assault. The police opened a case into the incident on October 7.
Marius' lawyer Øyvind Bratlien says they are strongly considering reporting this as a false accusation.

Obviously this is the case where Juliane Snekkestad was interrogated as a witness on November 20.

Given all these charges, I’m beginning to think it wasn’t just the police, the media, or his parents that covered for Marius. No woman he ever met, none of the women’s friends or families, and none of Marius’ acquaintances ever raised a concern at his behavior.

I could understand one or two incidents being ignored, but we’re up to seven or eight now.

Marius' acquaintances are thugs just like him, and the women involved did raise concerns but they fell on deaf ears. Some of them were unconscious and didn't even know the sexual assault took place.

I lose track, is it Nora who called Mette-Merit on a few occasions to raise concerns? She was ignored completely. I can imagine that some of the other women, if they had the gumption to notify the crown princess of Norway that her son is a hoodlum, were treated in the same manner.

The coverup was mainly his mother's doing IMO, Haakon just went along for the ride. She wielded power over the police and media, it was at her behest that he was treated with kid gloves.
