Maria-Olympia, Konstantinos, Achileas, Odysseas, Aristidis Events & News 3: 2025 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Reading previous comments, I have noticed that the news is contradictory:

Constantine does not speak Greek, he may speak very basic Greek, but he asked the journalists to ask their questions in English at the entrance to the church the day before the wedding, in conclusion he does not speak Greek. The news says that he is thinking of doing military service in the Special Forces, this is true, the Special Forces require very hard training, and this is true, they prepare soldiers for combat... If you add to this the fact that Constantine does not speak Greek well, it is very difficult to believe that, in case of being called up to the army, he will join the Special Forces . Not knowing the language can be very dangerous, in this army section, where it is essential to know the language.

On the other hand, military service, according to what I read, is obligatory for all Greeks, those who live in Greece and abroad. I have read that language is not an impediment. . They are obviously assigned to army corps where language is not so important.
I believe that in Navy, language is also essential, but in the Evzones (the presidential guard), where, as I read in a Facebook comment, the minimum height required is 1.87 meters, it may be the corps to which they send a Greek over 1.87 meters who does not speak the language well.

They are trained for the guards in Syntagma Square, at the Presidential Palace... The Evzones have a great symbolic value.

The Evzones do not speak in their guards, they remain silent,
He would have to learn the steps of the Evzones, remain still without moving for hours, putting up with the tourists, and when the time for the change came, Constantine would have to stop as they do, slowly raising his leg up to the knee first... Many Evzones are young Greeks doing their military service.

Doing military service in the evzones is an honor for many Greeks, due to the symbolic value and representation of Greece that they have.

Finally, I would like to say that what the Evzones do requires a lot of training and perfection, it is not as easy as I have described, it is very complicated and doing it well is a great responsibility. But language can be so relevant .
It would be quite humiliating for the "heir " to the Greek throne to guard the President of the Hellenic Republic. And outside a palace which the Republic expropriated from his own family, of all places!

However, I believe the palace you are referring to at Syntagma Square is actually the "Old Royal Palace", which now houses the Greek Parliament rather than the Presidential Mansion. The president's residence is the former "New Royal Palace" next to the National Garden (formerly the Royal Garden).

Anyway, I still do not understand why the Family has imposed all those demands on Constantine-Alexios. Why can't he just be a filmmaker in California as he wanted to? He is already a dual British/American citizen, why did he need to become a Greek citizen too? He will never be King of the Hellenes, so this is all futile.

First of all, the Presidential Palace was not confiscated because it has always belonged to the Greek state, it was the Tatoi Palace which was the private property of the King. And the Palace in Syntagma Square was only the palace of King George I of Greece, as the rest of the kings did not live there, it is the Greek parliament.

You say that it would be humiliating, I think that the Venizelos Law is also humiliating, having to recognize the Greek republic as an unalterable political form.... by have a passport, when your ancestors were the creators of the Greek state, and were born on Greek soil... For this reason, I think that standing guard in the Presidential Palace can no longer be humiliating, perhaps it is humiliating for the president of the republic, having to watch the King's grandson standing guard at the door...and doing the military service

In Synagma Square is the tomb of the unknown soldier, and that would be an honor.

I don't have the impression that Konstantinos-Alexios is very tall. He looks shorter than his father, so i don't think he reaches 1.87 to be an Evzon.
As to be called to the Army, as far as he is no legally resident of Greece, he is not obliged to serve. He will be called and he can provide his residence abroad and the obligation will be postponed, unless he chooses voluntary to serve.
If /when he deposits an official residence in Greece, then it is mandatory to serve.
Now for the corp to serve.. most probably the Navy, but again is not his choice.
As for the special forces, eligibility criteria are very strong and high, I don't know if he fulfills them.
As for his Greek language.... matter has been discussed again and again.. for me is scandalous thay CP Paul did not teach it to his kids....

I am not sure if I would call it "scandalous", but let's look at it from a practical point of view.

Marie-Chantal is not Greek and I assume she does not speak Greek at home. Pavlos himself lived most of his life outside Greece and, although he went, I think, to a bilingual Greek school in London, you yourself said here that he doesn't speak Greek like a native..

The children, on the other hand, were raised in England and the United States and, as far as I understand, went to English-only schools.

Realistically if you were raised in a mixed family where the mother is an English speaker and the father is bilingual (but not a "perfect" Greek speaker) and, on top of that, you have lived all your life in English-speaking countries and gone to English-speaking schools only, it is quite predictable that English will be your dominant language and that your knowledge of Greek will be fairly limited.

I actually know many people in the United States who have two foreign-born parents and who spoke a foreign language regularly at home , but whose command of their parents' native language is now limited as adults. They can speak the language, but their vocabulary is not extensive and they have trouble writing or with formal academic language as they have been schooled only in English and live and work in a English-speaking environment.

I would agree to all what you said.. if we were talking about an average family.
But we are talking about the CP family of Greece and about the son and grand son of a former ruling King, who in top of that has an immense fortune.
Forget what language would be heard at home. Just think Greek language as a foreign language.
CP Pavlos kids are English native,ok.
And then what? Didn't learn a second one? Or a third one? With all the financial means the have? They don't hear Greek at home from their parents ..agreed. But CP Pavlos could (and should IMO) hire a Greek nanny and Greek language teachers. Is not such a big deal. I'm a Greek speaker myself, raised In Greece by Greek speaking parents. And I learned two additional languages, in a satisfactory level. Without being a millioner genius. I have even friends, average people who learned 3 out of Greek. And Pavlos kids ate unable to? Why they cannot do what many of us regular average people did? Just because they don't want to... neither their father did.... So don't tell me is question of capacity. Is just question of willingness.
I would understand them not to be interested... but if they were...no excuse of not being able to...

The lack of speaking Greek in that context is a bit odd. It is not unnatural for those of nobility to speak multiple languages and the lack of effort does not bode well. However, for reasons that may never be disclosed that is the reality but that does not mean that the language cannot be learned later in life

This is my opinion, she has a body with model measurements, but, looking at her face, she is not a beautiful woman. (..)

She is not in the Gigi hadid category of models but more in line of Kate Moss!

Some models are booked for their beauty while others are booked for being either edgy like daphne guinness or they are a blank canvas for the clothes to shine on their own and I think Maria Olympia fits the latter category!

Yesterday, March 9, Maria-Olympia was seen at the Balenciaga Womenswear Fall/Winter 2025-2026 show as part of Paris Fashion Week:

What does she actually do? She supposedly is a model but we seldom see a photo of her modelling. We do see her often attending fashion shows and other fashion related events. Does she get paid for that? Not that she needs the pay probably, but still..

She's a socialite, yes, she most likely gets paid to attend these events, at the end of February it was announced that she had joined Moda Operandi as Contributing Editor.

How naive to think people would simply show up when invited. But of course it must be a job and she must be making money from it.

I checked moda operandi and it seems a website like Zalando, where they sell clothes. What would they need an editor for?

As per WWD:
She will offer her point of view, curate a dedicated edit of her shopping picks, appear in exclusive editorials, and co-host events with emerging and established designers.

Are Alexios and Achileas in the Greek army?
