Luxembourg Princesses Jewellery

Information about Princess Claire of Luxembourg's ruby tiara, which was only seen publicly once in 2015.

It does look like the style of gifts Middle Eastern royals give - the earrings in particular are massive

Princess Claire wore more important jewels than the Grand Duchess and The Heditary Grand Duchess.

I think this ruby parure, the butterfly tiara and the turqoise parure all are recent additions to the Luxembouyrg jewel chest, of which we do not know the origins.

And both the Ruby- as the Turqoise parures have cluncky necklaces and small tiaras. Both parures could greatly benifit from a redesign where part of the necklace will be used to alter the tiara a bit.

Dispite having this many tiaras we will seldom see them as I imagine in the future only Guillaume and Stephanie will attend state visits.

Im rather hoping that they continue for a number of years to have other members attend the big state banquets particularly incoming monarchys. Their children are very young so only having the 2 senior royals seems shortsighted.

Actually it was said that Maria Teresa recovered the turquoise tiara in the Vault and had them at the Jewller to make it more wearable, which was not very successful in my opinion. 'There are also two turquoise necklaces which have worn with the tiara. I think the smaller one is from the Parure and the other big one is a separate one.

Somehow i doubt it. For example Prince Guillaume and Princess Sibilla used to attended State banquets during the reign of Grand Duke Jean, but after he abdicated the stopped attending. And it seems Felix and Claire don't have no big Interest to do as they never attended State Banquets and also don't attend the New Years reception.

Luxembourg isn't the largest country or the largest monarchy. I am sure they can make do with just Guillame and Stephanie present for state banquets.

Let's see if Louis, Alexandra and Sebastien will attend state banquets or New Years reception after their brother's accession

Grand Duchess Hilda's Floral Tiara now belongs to the Faerber Collection!

It was nice to see Charlotte wearing the Diamond Floral Tiara that belonged to her grandmother!

I believe her grandmother is still alive and celebrated her 90th birthday back in January. Unless she passed away since then?

Thanks for pointing that out and was a typo on my behalf!

The Dowager Duchess de Mouchy is still alive. The tiara was hers and not from the Vault.
Happy Wedding after the Bride's Brother Fredrick , died a few months again from POLG congenital disease.
Prince Robert de luxembourg is the most succesfull member of the family. As presidnt he has overseen the creation of one of the largest Saint Emilion estates and is Owner of the restaurant la Clarence (Michelin two stars )

Is the diamond Floral tiara the only one that the Dowager Duchess owns?

Yes , she never wore tiaras from the Grand Ducal Family, such as her daughter and Grand Daughter.
She never attend glittering Events after her husband passed away after 10 years of Wedding. She left Luxembourg and started a sucessful Wedding and life in France , whose Children are the Heirs..

The couple looks so young and beautiful. Quite a continuing family resemblance. ! Did Joan attend the wedding?

A lovely Art Deco ribbon brooch caught my attention on Facebook today and immediately looked familiar. I'm pretty confident it is the same one worn by Grand Duchess Josephine-Charlotte and later by Maria Teresa and Stephanie, but would love to hear other opinions too.

According to the caption the brooch was sold by Christie's in the 1980's, which would fit well with GDss Josephine-Charlotte not wearing it before the early 1990's. I think one of the first prominent occasions was the wedding of Prince Guillaume and Sibilla Weiller in 1994. Grand Duchess Maria Teresa has worn a few times, notably during Tarja Halonen's State Visit in 2008 and the Hereditary Grand Duchess has worn it once (that I recall of) during the National day gala in 2016.
