According to the court ruling of December 4, 2018, Prince Louis was then living in Paris with his sister in a “family property”. He had moved there after he separated from his wife in 2016.
“34. Very sadly, the marriage broke down in the summer of 2016. The husband moved to Paris where he currently resides with his sister in a family property. The husband expressed an intention to the court to move out of this property and into rented accommodation funded by himself as soon as he is able to afford to do so.”
That wasn’t stated in the court judgment. Was there somewhere else where you read it?
What was explained to the court was that the Administration of the Property of HRH the Grand Duke of Luxembourg (ADB) sometimes purchases property outside Luxembourg that is meant for the use of the entire family, but in these situations, the ADB does not purchase or hold the property it in its own name for legal reasons. Instead, a family member acts as an intermediary and owns the property on contract with the ADB. (See paragraph 11 of the judgment.)
