The king met with former Dutch PM and the current NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague today.

King Willem-Alexander received the Ambassadors of Italy and Paraguay today, April 9:

Later he paid a working visit to the project De Bouwpraktijk, a "work-study programme in which status holders and people who have been on social assistance for a long time are given a chance at a permanent job in construction":


 
King Willem-Alexander visited the armed forces at the Lieutenant-General Best Barracks today, April 24.
The visit focussed on the Dutch support for Ukraine and Developments and innovations in the Dutch defence industry.

And later he participated in a discussion at the University of Leiden on "tackling sexually transgressive behaviour and sexual violence in higher education":

Quite a statement from the King, unthinkable until not so long ago. He said that the Netherlands needs to 'arm to the teeth'. He added that 'We may have taken it for granted that we would always have freedom and peace. Unfortunately Ukraine and other conflicts show us that this is no longer the case. And to live in security and peace we truely need to prepare outselves'. The King underlined the importance of building up a defence industry that will help to re-arm.


Words of the King are as always fully baced by the prime minister, government and in this case the minister of defence.

King Willem-Alexander will pay a visit to Japan on May 21 and 22 for the Expo 2025 Osaka.

The detailed programme has been released today and will include a dinner with Emperor Naruhito:
