King Willem-Alexander Current Events 4: Aug 2023 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
The three parties that are trying to form a government are aiming for February 23 as their official installation. As they say in Dutch, it has been dotted down 'with pencil' in the king's calendar. He should be back from the Olympics (and ski holiday? - although he could also take that afterwards) by then.
After attending the Olympics, the king will indeed be on ski holiday. According to a political journalist, the parties that are about to form a minority government are quite happy that because of that the installation is planned for the 23rd. That gives them a little bit of a breather before starting the real work…

King Willem-Alexander attended the Men's Cyclocross World Championships in Hulst this afternoon, February 1:

He talked to the media as well - of course, the main reason for his presence was the expected record-breaking championship for Mathieu van der Poel - who was cyclocross world championship for the 8th time (he only lost one competition he participated in in the last 3 years).

He indeed continued his meetings with the chairpersons/leaders of various political parties in parliament. None of them is part of the coalition that will be inaugurated by the king next Monday.

King Willem-Alexander received formateur Rob Jetten (D66) today, February 21.

"The D66 political leader presented his final report to House of Representatives Speaker Thom van Campen and will be sworn in as Prime Minister in two days"

Rob Jetten will only be the king’s third prime minister - the previous one served about 1 1/2 years and seemed to mainly enjoy attending international events but as ‘independent’ PM didn’t have a real say.

And probably the first to get married while in office? I doubt any previous PM got married while being PM. I wonder whether the king is expected to attend the wedding of his PM.
