Magnus Nilsson, born around 1106–1107, died June 4, 1134, was prince of Denmark and was elected king of the Goats. Magnus was the son of King Niels and his Swedish-born Queen Margareta (daughter of the Swedish King Inge the Elder). Married to Richeza of Poland, father of Knut V of Denmark. By Snorre Sturlasson he is called Magnus the Strong.
According to Saxo Grammaticus, Magnus was elected king of Sweden after Inge the Younger's death by the Goths around 1125, but the election was not accepted by the Swedes. They must have chosen a king of their own, but this must have been killed by the Goths. After that, Magnus must have been accepted as king, but then he was busy with civil war in Denmark, and Sverker the elder was elected king.
