LadyFinn thanks for keeping us updated.
On facebook the NRF published a picture with the caption: "Exciting till the end of the World Cup in sailing: The King and his crew in Sira took third in the Sira Cup class for classic 8-meters in Helsinki Saturday."
Congratulations! :flowers:

Yes, the king had a tough fight with a finnish crew. The king was one point ahead before today. The finnish boat was one place better today and they were in equal points. The king had as best placement a fourth place, and the finns had a fifth place. So the king got the bronze.
A photo from the prize ceremony, I think better photos coming soon.

The Palace announced that King Harald and his crew will compete in the International Eight Metre World Cup Championship in Langenargen, Germany, from July 1 - July 7, 2018.

Today, June 30, they were already seen at the Aguti Classic Cup (June 30 - July 1) also in Langenargen:

A report on the 'King who wants to be only sailer and tourist'. Unfortunately German only. Google translation wouldn't work for this website.

Basically what it emphasises the down-to-earth-approach of King Harald V. Someone who doesn't like to be photographed during meals. You are not allowed to come too close, but he waved to fellow sailers with the words 'Go, go' when they passed him. He enjoys a glass of wine in the evening and uses a small boat in the morning to go to the marina.

English article about it: Third place to King Harald in the World Cup for 8 meter racing yachts - Norway Today

From me: As one can read in the two last posts in the below thread, the King's back/leg pains is becoming more and more visible, and the media has for the first time started to pay attention to it: http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/f16/annual-county-visits-44961.html#post2122879

But as TV2's royal expert Kjell Arne Totland said on TV2 News Channel the other day, that he's still out and sailing shows that he is in pretty good health (despite his frailty).

The Palace has shared some photos of the King's participation in the championship on Lake Geneva:

(..)the King and crew finished in 10th place in the championship.

It has been long days for the crew, with up to seven hours on the water at a stretch, and slightly varying positions. But with a good final day, "Sira" climbed into the top 10 with a margin of one point.

"Sira" was once King Olav's sailboat, built in 1937/38. Before King Harald was to sail the WC in 2008, the boat was restored
