King Harald attended the consecration of Stig Lægdene, the new Bishop of the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland at Tromsø Cathedral today, December 7:






The NRK article explains that this is the first time someone became bishop by “after-nomination”. Apparently this refers to a process used to nominate someone through a grassroots campaign when they fail to be nominated by committee.

The church’s highlights from the new bishop’s speech include his comments that Christians do not always need to agree with one another and must tolerate one another even when there are deep disagreements. Could that be a reference to how he was nominated?
 
Today, King Harald visits the site where the naval hunter Trond Bolle is buried.

Today, January 18, Queen Sonja attended a service marking the 30th anniversary of the opening of Dronning Sonja Kirke-og Kultursenter (Queen Sonja Church and Cultural Centre) in Le Vésinet, France:







 
She looks absolutly great and so much younger than her years in the photos on kongehusets Instagram, France sure suits her.
 
This evening, January 20, Queen Sonja as Patron attended the Oslo Philharmonic's concert at the Philharmonie de Paris, France:




 
Yesterday, January 22, King Harald received the new Ambassadors from Bangladesh, Greece and Lesotho:


 
On today's World Cancer Day, February 4, King Harald inaugurated the "Aktiv mot kreft" (Active against cancer) centre for exercise and cancer rehabilitation at the Radiumhospitalet Campus in Oslo.
