King Frederik X, Current Events Part 2: September 2025 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
That's a great start to an important visit. And no surprise that, as always, he is very warmly welcomed in Greenland. This time maybe even more than at less tense times.

Wonder if Christian will be deployed to Greenland once he has completed officers academy? Symbolically speaking it would mean a lot and perhaps forge a special bond between Greenland and Christian.

King Frederik truly is in his right element here. If his smile was any wider, the top of his head would fall off.
But it also where his people skills really come into play.
If QMII was still the monarch, she would no doubt get a warm welcome, but her visit would be more symbolic than personal. - With King Frederik it's a personal visit that is also symbolic. See the difference?

The special unit for Greenlandic volunteers. (Greenlanders don't have conscription but they can volunteer for conscription.) This basic Arctic course is predominantly for the defense of Greenland and right now they have way more applicants than they can find room for on the course, especially after Trump took office. After the course has ended, they will be in the reserves to be called up if needed. If they wish to and qualify they can join the Danish military which will take them to DK for more advanced training that merely being riflemen.)
It is a mix of patriotism but also a source of pride among their families of the young people who join up, as well as a sense of national pride, now the Greenlanders themselves take an active part in defending their country and not relying almost exclusively on Danish soldiers.

Unfortunately the risk of USA invading Greenland is not out of the question. Especially if the likely upcoming military action against Iran will be successful. That will perhaps embolden Trump and co to try something similar against Greenland.
It is expected that Trump will increase the pressure on Greenland, or even come up with something dramatic prior to 4th July because it is suspected that he would like to announce the annexation of Greenland the celebrate the 250th anniversary of USA.
And this is where these young people come in. They are no match against well trained soldiers, but they can free Danish combat soldiers from some tasks, like guarding installations.

Minus 20 but the smile doesn't disappear

"- The joy of always being in Greenland, visiting Greenland, being with the Greenlanders and of course experiencing their magnificent nature time and time again. I can never get enough of it, says King Frederik."

You just feel the closeness and love he has for Greenland.
Lots of video interviews from his last day

I do like this idea. and with the real situation that is happening, I can see more and more troops training in Greenland.
Maybe in the near future we can also see a solo trip from Christian.

In the meantime, so happy to see the joy of the Greenlanders towards Frederik. Not just as King but as "Frederik".

Also, he just suffered a great defeat re tariffs in the US Supreme Court. He is said to be raging. When that happens, he decides to invade or bomb something. So, Greenland should be on guard.

King Frederik always exudes such joy being in Greenland. It is so genuine. It has been a wonderful trip and everywhere he's gone, he's been met with grateful and enthusiastic Greenlanders and the feeling has been mutual.

A very good article to summarize his visit to Greenland

"He has not made any political statements at all, but in everything he has said, and the way he has shaken hands, had selfies taken, has participated and has asked questions, it demonstrates that he is the King and Head of State of Greenland and knows their concerns."

And a very good video. Selfies all around and yes even the King knows the youth hit that is 6,7

King Frederik held 78 public audiences on Monday March 2nd.

As of March 2nd - King Frederik has had 5 separate days on the calendar to public audiences and a total of 394 public audiences. He's held audiences on January 19th. In February he's held audiences on the 2nd, 16th and 23rd. And now in March he's held audiences on the 2nd. I love that he's continued this tradition of meeting with Danes that have been awarded medals/orders. A great way to have one-on-one connections with regular Danes.
