The King held its public audiences today

"Today the focus was on the first public audience of the year. As is tradition, it took place on a Monday and at Christiansborg Palace.
It is always a great pleasure for me to meet citizens from all over the Kingdom.
✍️ H.M. The King"

Today, January 26, King Frederik received Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin of the Vatican at Amalienborg.
"The Cardinal Secretary of State is visiting Denmark on the occasion of the 1200th anniversary of the mission of Saint Ansgar to Denmark":

Ansgar is the credited with bringing Christianity to Denmark, but not as the one who christened DK. That honor belongsvto King Harald Bluetooth. It's true, he said so himself...
Ansgar is a common name for missionhotels in DK. No beer, no liquer and no lewd womenfolks...

The Danish Royal House has announced that King Frederik X will visit Greenland between February 18th and 20th, 2026.

The King's arrival in Greenland's capital, Nuuk, is scheduled for Wednesday, February 18th.

Further program details will be announced later.

Looking forward to his visit! Frederik and Mary spoke on Greenland during their state visit to Lithuania

"We feel very much for the Greenlandic people, and what has been happening in Greenland in recent weeks has touched us greatly," says King Frederik Ritzau.

"We can sense from the media that the Greenlandic people have been very concerned. It concerns us both. Greenland is very important to us," the king continues.

- Here the King has a very special role in creating cohesion between Greenland and Denmark

Today, King Frederik X granted a public audience at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen.

In the Throne Room at Christiansborg Palace, the King Frederik X received new ambassadors from Peru, Japan, Italy and Lithuania in an inaugural audience today.

King Frederik attended "a luncheon at the Naval Officers' Association on the occasion of the 225th anniversary of Christian VII's establishment of the "Honorary Badge for Good Service in the Naval State"" today, February 3:

A special anniversary was marked today at Kastellet in Copenhagen, when His Majesty the King attended a luncheon at the Naval Officers' Association on the occasion of the 225th anniversary of Christian VII's establishment of the "Honorary Badge for Good Service in the Naval State".

The event brought together recipients of the Navy's decorations, specially invited guests and members of the Naval Officers' Association for an afternoon filled with speeches, musical performances from the Navy's Tambourine Corps and lively conversations between the King, the recipients of the decorations and members of the association.

What a delight today, double uniform day!

Glad the royal house release photos from the introductory audiences with new ambassadors.
And the luncheon was not announced before but glad they released pictures. Frederik is in his element!

In between events he also took of some minister meetings.

Yeah, the General Governor didn't just pop over to say hi to King Frederik.
Canada is unsurprisingly facing similar problems - and opportunities - in the Arctic as Denmark and Greenland. There is already a considerable low key co-operation in the Arctic between the two countries. And both countries face similar challenges with the current US administration.
So it's natural to both show support for the Kingdom of Denmark, which this visit very much is. But also to use DK as a literal stepping stone to the rest of EU, after all we do share a land-border.
Denmark and by extension NATO has a now significant and growing presence in Greenland, which can also help cover parts of northern Canada, freeing Canadian resources to be used elsewhere.
She may, I wonder, have extended a personal invitation to Kind Frederik to come visit Canada - and soon.

And isn't the Canadian Consulate in Greenland opening this week? I believe France is also opening a Consulate in Greenland.

I was wondering how soon there would be a state visit/official visit between Denmark and Canada.

Indeed. France has considerable mining interests in Greenland, the rare earth that Trump believe is so vital to US interests. Even if they can't be mined. Because denying others access to resources is also power.
My guess would be that it would take about a year to arrange a proper state visit to Canada. But it could also be an official visit, which would be more like heading a mixed trade and political delegation, with a more limited goal and that should and could be arranged much faster, say by autumn.
Or it could be an official visit to Greenland by Canada at some level, which by courtesy and protocol would involve the Danish Monarch.

Updated information on the King's upcoming visit to Greenland.

"PRELIMINARY PROGRAM
His Majesty the King will visit Greenland on 18-20 February 2026.
The visit begins in Nuuk on Wednesday morning with arrival at Nuuk Airport, where the King will be received by the President of Naalakkersuisut, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, and the President of Inatsisartut, Kim Kielsen. The King will stay in Nuuk throughout Wednesday.

On Thursday, the King will visit Maniitsoq, located on the west coast of Greenland, approximately 140 kilometers north of Nuuk. The day ends with a departure for Kangerlussuaq.

On Friday, the King will be in Kangerlussuaq to visit Arctic Basic Education.
A more detailed program will be published at the beginning of next week."

Public audience today

after the audience, "His Majesty the King presented the Majesty's Dagger of Honor to Cadet Nicolai Alstrup Utzon today."

There are some people, where you can tell almost at once how intelligent they are just by looking at them.
That's the immediate impression I get from this officer.
Utzon is a famous name in DK, wonder if there are any relations with the architect.

The detailed programme of this week's Greenland visit has been shared today:

Packed itinerary for King Frederik over his 3 days in Greenland. Looking forward to following the visit. I will be curious if and/or how the visit will be covered abroad and if it will make news in the US.

Frederik has arrived to Greenland and was received by The Prime Minister of The Government of Greenland, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, and The President of the Inatsisartut, the Parliament of Greenland, Kim Kielsen

Very important video of the greeting King Frederik is getting in Greenland on Day 1 of his visit. He is being swarmed by Greenlanders happy to see him, wanting to shake his hand! The optics are incredible.

the subtitles help! thank you!
I think we can see his joy in being in Greenland, especially during tense time.
And the Greenlanders there certainly seem to embrace him.

"During the coffee break in Katuaq, Chairman of the Greenlandic Government Jens-Frederik Nielsen gives a short interview to the press present.
He says, among other things, that he is very happy about the King's visit:
- He is popular and loved by the citizens of this country, and he is a very unifying figure. This is proven every time he is here.
- I am happy that he wanted to come, says Jens-Frederik Nielsen.
He is also asked about the signal of the visit to the USA and Donald Trump:
- We have been in this situation for a long time. I think the most important thing is that the citizens of Greenland can feel the solidarity with the royal house, which every year proves to be very strong.""
