King Frederik X, Current Events Part 1: January 2024 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
"His Majesty The King has in 2024 received more than 1,000 audience-seeking citizens at Christiansborg Castle, and today the King received the last of the year, who attended to thank the King for a received order, medal or royal appointment.
The public hearing is held 1-2 times a month - typically every other Monday. There is a long tradition in Denmark that congregants with special errands have been able to seek representation for the regent; but only during the early monopoly were the audiences put into system. Under Christian 5. and starring Frederik 4. during his reign, every citizen could make a prayer or request, while the King waited for his horse to be prepared. Access to the King was then simply administered by the staldkarlen.
As part of the building of the personal monopoly, Frederik 4 formalized. in 1725 the audience system by issuing an ordinance on regular weekly audiences, where every citizen could personally make complaints and suggestions to the monarch outside the administration. The audience system was later continued in different variants of later monarchs. Only after the situation with coronavirus audience seekers were able to register in advance via an electronic registration system, and it continues to be so today."

May this tradition always continue!
One of the persons pictured above is a close and dear relative of mine.

Today, King Frederik X received the newly appointed first lieutenants of the Air Force as well as corps masters of the National Emergency Management Agency in Amalienborg.

Not a uniform we see him wear too often but he looks great.

Per this article King Frederik greeted each person and then gave a speech at each of the events.

He looks fantastic!

Frederik will be giving his new year's speech live

"- If you don't have the routine yourself and perhaps have previously had problems giving speeches, as King Frederik did, especially in the past, then choosing to do it live actually makes the commitment and decision even greater. So it certainly says something about the fact that he has a character that makes him willing to take up the challenge and give the speech in the way he thinks it should be given, where you can speak directly to the Danes, that is, live,"

Good for him to continue tradition of giving speech live. Is the Danish monarch the only one left now that continues to do either the Christmas or New Year's speech live and not pre-record it?

A nice sign that the young audience rose for the King

Some lovely words from the winner about the King
"- I don't think there are many countries with kings who meet us athletes at that level, so thank you very much for that, said Viktor Axelsen to King Frederik"

King Frederik grand reception/welcome when he arrived at the event. Article from BT, also includes a video interview

I agree. IMO it bodes well for the DRF that they appear popular amongst the younger generation.

He did indeed.
When it was announced that King Frederik had taken his seat, the audience rose to their feet. - And keep in mind, these are mainly younger people, not old monarchists say like me.

This morning, King Frederick X held a public audience with around 80 Danes at Christiansborg Palace. This audience served to thank the King for something.

Here are some photos of the attendees today:

King Frederik received the Ambassadors of Trinidad and Tobago, the United Arab Emirates, Laos, Botswana, the Dominican Republic, South Africa, the United States and Spain today, January 15:

Nice pictures. A great tradition to welcome new ambassadors. He also met some who would be leaving, "H.M. The King receives ambassadors from South Africa, the USA and Spain in a farewell audience"

The King's uniform is a lovely upgrade from his mother's rather dowdy dress suits.

I always wondered why she did not dress more formal for these audiences. Like at the New Years receptions at Christiansborg for example.

That's one of the things King Frederik will do different from his mother, and that's how it should be.
And knowing a number of members here and given how often he receives ambassadors, King Frederik in his navy gala will be appreciated... ;)

Plus with the King in uniform it does gives a bit more formality to the audience. And the optics of King Frederik in uniform is an added benefit.

King Frederik presented the King's Honorary Sabre and Honorary Dagger to two First Lieutenants today:

At a small ceremony in Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg, His Majesty the King today presented His Majesty's Honorary Sabre and Honorary Dagger to First Lieutenants Magnus Ravn Skou and Josefine Eg Bolko. The King's Honorary Sabre and Honorary Dagger are awarded based on special criteria, including a high average in connection with the completion of the education at the Naval Officers' School andthe Air Force Officers' School. The Honorary Sabre is provided with the inscription "By the King" as well as the name of the cadet in question and the year of completion of the education. The Honorary Dagger is engraved with the Royal Arms, the King's monogram and the cadet's name.

The best of the best of the newly graduated first lieutenants. Hence the honor.
If they continue like this and stay in the military they'll make general/admiral in 25 years or so. Perhaps even 20 years.

Very nice event. This event is now on the royal calendar (it was unannounced so far)

King Frederik received the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandrokovic at Frederik VIII's Palace, Amalienborg today, January 21:

From the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament's Instagram
