How lovely that such a large number of the Spanish royal family was present yesterday. Not only Felipe, Letizia, Elena and Cristina were present for the memorial service for their uncle (next to Sofia and Juan Carlos as sister and brother-in-law) but Cristina was accompanied by her eldest son Juan Valentin.

This morning, in London, at the Orthodox Cathedral, Crown Prince Pavlos gave a speech remembering his father, he thanked King Charles for organizing the memorial for his father in Windsor.

It was wonderful to see so many members of the British,Greek,Spanish and Danish RF present at St George's chapel for the memorial.

The Banish Royal family was represented by HRH Princess Benedikte. She was sitting next to King Juan Carlos. Her Son and Her Daughter were also there but privately.

Now we know why William didn't attend. I hope that all those out there telling how William should be ashamed of himself are now ashamed of themselves.

It was still a very bad call for William to not attend. It is understandable that William was going through, and processing, a lot at that moment but William lacks the understanding his father and grandparents have/had in the importance of carrying on and appearing steady. He just needed to appear for one hour, he just had to give one hour of appearing fine, and so much of the media discourse would have been avoided. Looking at it now, the cost of not attending was far greater than the personal cost William would have endured by attending. William, like Harry, often let their disdain of the media get in the way of making balanced decisions.

Posts about the Prince of Wales not attending the memorial service have been moved HERE.

I just read that:
Two years ago the King Constantine died. The memorial service will be held on January 12 at the Church of the Resurrection in Tatoi (cementery). This will be private.

The Super Katherina television programme reported from Tatoi, with journalist Andreas Karagiannis, who was recording live from the cemetery, he has said:.
The Memorial would be 12th, but the journalist contacted the Family office, and informed him that due to scheduling problems and the health of one of their members (the office has not specified which member of the family has health problems) it has been postponed, for 16

Apparently, the agenda and personal problems (health) are Prince Pavlos's, who has not been able to travel to Athens during these dates. I also read that Queen Anna Maria and Prince Nikolaos could attend a mass in memory of the King, even visit the tomb of King Constantine in Tatoi, tomorrow, but all in the strictest privacy, this would be the reason that the press published this date.
Another matter.
I notice that Prince Pavlos always seeks maximum privacy for these events. Last year, the persons no invited were not allowed to enter the memorial at Tatoi, and this year it seems to be the same. He wants maximum privacy. However, this is in contrast to the memorials held by King Constantine at Tatoi for his parents. The family's followers were allowed to attend the cemetery, and they even took photos with the family members....
It is obvious that Prince Pavlos wants privacy and intimacy. He doesn't want publicity on these dates

Fully understandable in my opinion… The media was allowed to cover his funeral service and his burial… Now the memorials should be for the family only

I'm looking at some photos of the Trisagion held in Tatoi, for the two years of the death of King Constantine, it is actually the entrance of vehicles, and it seems that only the children of King Constantine, and Queen Anna Maria have been there. In Prince Nikolaos' car was Princess Theodora and another person who cannot be recognized, in the other car (King Constantine's car), you could see Queen Anna Maria and Prince Pavlos, there could be another person. It has been private

Yes I also agree and the Memorial Service is a private family event and that should be respected!
There was a public memorial at St George's Chapel in Windsor last year.

More photos of the Trisagion for the second year of the death of King Constantine II.

Crown Prince Pavlos spoke to Greek television about this event:

There's a video of Pavlos, AN and Theodora leaving the Twenty One hotel, the Queen was very emotional and it's clear she had cried just recently. Thank goodness she has such lovely children.
