The King gave today a farewell audience to China's Ambassador Aimin Cui.
 
King Carl Gustaf met today at the Royal Palace Niclas Kvarnström, the Government's National Security Advisor, who assists the National Security Council and the Prime Minister in foreign, security and national security policy matters. He presented current issues within his area of responsibility.

The King met today also the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović.

And gave formal audiences to new ambassadors from the United States of America, Canada, Norway, Germany and Uruguay.
The foreign envoys whom the King received in a formal audience were:
Christine Toretti from the United States of America
Robert Sinclair from Canada
Niels Engelschøn from the Kingdom of Norway
Ludger Siemes from the Federal Republic of Germany
Carlos Gitto from the Republic of Uruguay

King Carl Gustaf met on Tuesday also Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at the Royal Palace.
The King meets regularly with the Prime Minister to inform himself about the government's work.
 
King Carl Gustaf inspected the Life Guard Battalion at the Inner Courtyard of the Royal Palace today.

The King gave a speech, where he said among other things:
"You are all life guards with several hundred years of connection to Stockholm and the Royal House. In addition, you have all solved, and solve, both the sharp guard duty around the palaces and various parades on horseback and on foot in a meritorious manner. You are strongly associated with the image of Stockholm and are very appreciated by both me and the public."

King Carl Gustaf met today also Mikael Granholm, new Director General and Head of the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, FMV.

King Carl Gustaf attended today a board meeting of the King Carl XVI Gustaf 50th Anniversary Fund for Science, Technology and the Environment at the Royal Palace.

In the evening the King attended the Royal Swedish Academy of Music's formal gathering and awarded prizes.

The King delivered The New Entrepreneur of the Year Awards (Årets nybyggare) yesterday at the Bernadotte Library. Årets nybyggare is Sweden’s most prestigious recognition for entrepreneurs with foreign backgrounds.

From AI systems that protect wildlife to patches that cure skin infections, entrepreneurial spirit and innovation graced the Royal Palace in Stockholm as The New Entrepreneur of the Year Award was presented on Tuesday.
“Your commitment and your drive make me proud and hopeful for the future,” said King Carl XVI Gustaf at the award ceremony.
His Majesty has been the patron of the award since 2000.
The Entrepreneur of the Year is awarded in three categories: Pioneer of the Year, Young Pioneer of the Year and New Start of the Year.

King Carl Gustaf attends today the opening of Sametinget's (The Sami Parliament) ninth term in Piteå.

The Royal House:
On 26 November, the King attended the Sametinget (Sámi Parliament) meeting to begin its ninth term of office in Piteå.
The Sametinget is a state authority with special responsibility for language, culture and reindeer husbandry. The elected parliament consists of 31 members who meet in plenary session three times a year.
The meeting began with the assembly singing the King's Song, in the Sámi version and in Swedish. The Sámi People's Song was then sung in Southern Sámi, Lule Sámi and Northern Sámi.
At the beginning of the meeting, the newly elected members were called out. The Speaker of the Parliament, Johanna Njaita, then opened the Sámi Parliament's ninth term of office for the years 2025–2029.

Yesterday the King attended a meeting of the King Gustaf VI Adolf's Fund for Swedish Culture and a meeting of the King Carl XVI Gustaf's Foundation for Scientific Research and Education. Usually the Royal House doesn't publish photos of these meetings.
 
The King met today the Speaker of the Riksdag Andreas Norlén, who told about current issues in the Riksdag.
 
King Carl Gustaf met today at the Royal Palace Acko Ankarberg Johansson, the new Governor of Västmanland County.

And Robert Andrén, the new governor of Södermanland County.

King Carl Gustaf visited today Hönö Boatyard on the island of Hönö with representatives from the Swedish Sea Rescue Society. During the visit, the King received a tour of the facilities to learn more about traditional Swedish maritime craftsmanship and modern boat construction.

King Carl Gustaf attended the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry's commemorative meeting and handed out medals, scholarships and diplomas.
 
King Carl Gustaf met yesterday flight engineer Marcus Wandt at the Royal Palace.
At the beginning of 2024, Marcus Wandt became the third Swede in space when he was one of the astronauts in the crew of Axiom Mission 3, which docked with the International Space Station ISS.
Marcus Wandt gave the King a Swedish flag that had been with him during the space flight.
In 2025, Marcus Wandt was awarded H.M. The King's Medal of Gold in the 8th size with the ribbon of the Order of the Seraphim for significant contributions to space research.

On Thursday 5 February, The King participated in the Swedish Academy's Thursday meeting at the Academy's premises in Börshuset in Stockholm.
Among the topics of the meeting were the Academy's support for authors, translators and researchers, the new edition of the Swedish Academy's dictionary and the Academy's other book publishing.
 
Academy member Peter Englund writes on his Instagram that the King once again joined the Academy and took an active part in the discussions. Afterwards he joined the Academy members for their customary dinner at the Gyldene Freden restaurant (founded in 1722) and that nobody recognised the King during their walk to the restaurant.

 
King Carl Gustaf follows the competitions of the FIS Cross Country Skiing World Cup in Falun tomorrow and on Sunday. The idea was that he should both follow the World Cup competitions in Falun and see Vasaloppet between Sälen and Mora.
But Margareta Thorgren tells that for logistical reasons it wasn't possible for him to see Vasaloppet on site. That's why he stays in Falun even on Sunday. He will certainly follow Vasaloppet on TV and then watch the competitions in Falun.
The King, who is very interested in skiing, is invited by the Swedish Ski Federation to Falun.
Thorgren says that the King wants on different levels, from the Olympics to the World Cup, support the national team. He will also receive information about Falun's World Championships 2027 preparations.
 
The King honoured the memory of Prime Minister Palme
Today marks 40 years since Prime Minister Olof Palme was assassinated. On the anniversary of the assassination, The King honoured the memory of the Prime Minister by lighting a candle in Falu Kristine Church in Falun.

After that the King arrived to follow the sprint races at the FIS Cross Country Skiing World Cup in Falun. He saw Sweden's Linn Svahn and Norway's Johannes Høsflot Klæbo being the fastest at the qualifications. The sprint finals later today.

Linn Svahn said about the King at the interview after her victory: "It feels like he brings luck to our team, so we hope he continues to visit us".
Norway's Johannes Høsflot Klæbo won the men's sprint, he is still in great form after winning all the six gold medals at the Olympic Games.

King Carl Gustaf saw on his second day at the FIS Cross Country Skiing World Cup in Falun Norway's Johannes Høsflot Klæbo winning the Men's skiathlon 20km. It was Klæbo's 109th victory at the World Cup. The Women's skiathlon later this afternoon.
