King Carl Gustaf gave today an audience to the speakers of the Dutch Parliament, the States General.
The Speaker of the Senate, Jan Anthonie Bruijn, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Martin Bosma, are visiting Sweden at the invitation of the Speaker of the Riksdag, Andreas Norlén.

The King received today also three new ambassadors in formal audiences at the Royal Palace:

Alexander Peñaranda Zárate, Republic of Costa Rica
Panha Tuot, Kingdom of Cambodia

King Carl Gustaf gave today an audience to the Head of the Swedish Security Service, Charlotte von Essen, who informed about the current security situation in Sweden and reported on current issues within the Security Service's area of operation.

King Carl Gustaf gave yesterday an audience to the Minister for Energy, Business and Industry and Deputy Prime Minister Ebba Busch, she gave information on, among other things, current issues in the areas of energy, innovation and industrial policy.

King Carl Gustaf gave today farewell audiences to Indonesia's Ambassador Kamapradipta Isnomo and the United Arab Emirates' Ambassador Shaikh Mohammed bin Matoum Al-Matoum.

Later today the King attended a meeting of the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs.

King Carl Gustaf attended today a lecture with the King Carl XVI Gustaf Foundation's 50th Anniversary Fund for Science, Technology and the Environment. The lecture was held at The Swedish School of Textiles in Borås.

The King participated yesterday when the Purveyors to the Court from all over Sweden met at the Royal Palace.
Becoming a Purveyor to the Court is an honorary award given to companies as proof that the company's products or services are appreciated by a members of the Royal Family. Purveyors to the Court are appointed by His Majesty The King.
Today, there are 130 court suppliers in Sweden and all were invited to this year's Purveyors to the Court Day, which was arranged in the Bernadotte Library.

The King's speech, he said among other things:
"My ancestor Karl XIV Johan initiated an organized appointment of Purveyors to the Royal Court in the early 19th century. Since then, the Royal House has continued this fine tradition. My grandfather, Gustaf VI Adolf, appointed as many as 1,100 purveyors! Today, the corresponding figure is 130. But I would say that the demands on quality – in both products and service – are higher."

The King attended today a meeting of H.M The King's Jubilee Fund for Youth in Sweden, which was founded at the initiative of Sweden's Lions and Scouts in connection with H.M. The King's 50th birthday.
 
King Carl Gustaf delivered the Crafoord Prize 2025 (Polyarthritis) to Christopher Goodnow and David Nemazee this afternoon at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
The Crafoord Prize in Polyarthritis 2025, worth SEK 6 million, is awarded to Christopher Goodnow, Australia, and David Nemazee, USA. They discovered important mechanisms that prevent B cells from attacking the body’s own tissues in autoimmune disease. Knowledge that could pave the way for new treatments for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and multiple sclerosis.

King Carl Gustaf inaugurated this year's exhibitions at Solliden Palace Park.
They include the glass art exhibition "Awakening" by glass artists Amanda Lund Socia and Beck Lund Socia in the English Park.

His Majesty the King Carl XVI Gustaf of the Kingdom of Sweden will visit Japan from May 13 to May 16 to attend Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
  1. During his stay in Japan, His Majesty the Emperor will invite His Majesty the King to a dinner.
  2. The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of His Majesty the King and hopes the visit will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and the Kingdom of Sweden

Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf visited the Osaka Kansai Expo site and attended Sweden's "National Day" ceremony. The King introduced the ties between the two countries, including his relationship with the Japanese Imperial Family and the increase in investment from Japan. In his greeting, he said, "I would like to continue to deepen our partnership and work hard to create new opportunities for sustainable growth and mutual prosperity."

The Royal Court:
On 13–16 May, the King visits Japan to attend the World Exhibition Expo 2025 Osaka.
Tuesday 13 May
Upon arrival the King was welcomed by the Japanese Chief of Protocol Hiroshi Ueda, the Japanese Ambassador to Sweden Hideaki Mizukoshi, and the Swedish Ambassador to Japan Viktoria Li.
In the afternoon, the King visited Expo 2025 Osaka and the Nordic Pavilion Nordic Circle, a joint project between the Nordic countries and the Nordic Council of Ministers. The theme of the pavilion is Together Towards a Better Future and shows the close cooperation of the Nordic countries, including through an exhibition section that showcases the Nordic lifestyle, values and cooperation. The King received a guided tour of the Nordic Circle pavilion and visited the Japanese signature pavilion Future of Life.
Wednesday 14 May
On 14 May, Sweden Day was organized at the World Exhibition. The King gave a speech at the official ceremony.

In the afternoon, the King inaugurated the conference Join Sweden to Pioneer the Possible: Creating a resilient & future proof society – Actions for the next decade.

Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa:
– When the King entered the Nordic pavilion, there was a sea of people who wanted to catch a glimpse of the King of Sweden.
Having a royal house is a trump card, especially in Japan where there is a great interest in Sweden in general, explains the minister.
– Being able to alternate politics, business and the royal house is a very successful concept that we can use internationally.

King Carl Gustaf visited the Ukraine Pavilion after attending the National Day ceremony at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo on Wednesday. The royal visit symbolized goodwill and friendship, and appealed for solidarity with Ukraine, which is suffering from Russian aggression.

Margareta Thorgen told to Svensk Damtidning about today:
– The King will take the train to Tokyo where more activities await. And then the King will end Thursday with a dinner with the Emperor.
