The Royal Swedish Ballet performs the history of the unknown swedish prince Gustav Badin Couschi
He is enslaved and brought from the West Indies to the Swedish Royal Court in the 1750s as a gift. He is the object of Queen Lovisa Ulrika's social experiment but also of her love. His rival is Sweden's future king, Gustav III, who is also his beloved brother. He also begins a secret relationship with Princess Sofia Albertina. Gustavia is the incredible story of Gustav Badin Couschi. A fast-paced ballet drama, an unknown part of the history of Sweden, a tale about power, norms and rebellion.

Victoria unveiled on October 9, 2023 the memorial stone for Adolf Ludvig Gustav Fredrik Albrecht Couschi (Gustav Badin) at the Katarina Cemetery in Södermalm in Stockholm.

The king and queen wanted a service to remember the victims of the tsunami disaster. The service was a matter of course for the royal couple, says Margareta Thorgren.
– The tsunami affected a lot of people in Sweden. The king and queen think it is important to pay attention to the day of remembrance. The tsunami affected all of Sweden and they also want to draw attention to all of Sweden by being present at this service.
Archbishop Martin Modéus says it was “completely obvious” for him to hold today’s service after the court made contact. It was very clear that the royal couple wanted there to be a service, and that they wanted to be there themselves.

King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia will attend the celebration for the 100th anniversary of the King's old school - the Sigtunaskolan Humanistiska Läroverkets (SSHL) in Sigtuna today, March 29.

Therefore the Palace released some old school photos of King Carl Gustaf:

Today, the King travels to Sigtuna to celebrate the 100th anniversary of his old school. 🏫✍🏼The King began his education at the Humanistiska läroverket in Sigtuna in August 1959. The then Crown Prince Carl Gustaf then spent his teenage years at the boarding school. The King graduated from the real line in April 1966. 🎓📸: TT and Bernadotte Library archives

Pic ** Pic

The King said at his speech among other things:
"I moved here when I was 13 to attend secondary school and graduated in 1966.
The topic of my student thesis was “The main conditions for the regional differentiation of European agricultural production”. Perhaps my thesis still feels relevant today? Europe’s food supply has become a topical issue in line with increasing geopolitical tensions.
Even though it has been many years since I studied in Sigtuna, I still feel at home here. Some parts are just as they used to be – like Stora gatan where we cycled to buy sausages and ice cream. At the same time, other old wastelands have been transformed into residential areas. This can perhaps be seen as a natural development."

At least four of the Queen's friends have attended Sigtuna. And her lady-in-waiting Christina von Schwerin, who was with the King and Queen.
The Chair of the Board of the Sigtuna School is Paula Guillet de Monthoux, Secretary General of Queen Silvia's World Childhood Foundation.

King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attend this evening the Jewish congregation's concert "Jewish life in Sweden 250 years" in the Great Synagogue in Stockholm.
Pic

To celebrate 250 years of Jewish life in Sweden, The King and Queen will attend an event in Stockholm's Great Synagogue this evening.
The anniversary year is based on the fact that in 1775 King Gustav III gave the Jewish seal engraver Aaron Isaac permission to settle in Sweden without converting to Christianity. Aaron Isaac was then able to found a Jewish congregation in Stockholm.
