Jewels for sale: Worthy additions to royal collections, Part 2

Lady Airlie's tiara is coming up for auction. And as usual, I think it would be a great purchase for Mary or Mathilde, so supplement their jewellery collections for their children.

I also thought of a future 18:th birthday tiara for Princess Estelle when i saw that Virginia Ogilvy’s lovely tiara was up for auction..

I hate the thought of Estelle recieving ”the thing” Victoria got for her 18:th birthday..

Perhaps it will be passed to Estelle for her 18th?
It was never a worthy tiara for a Crown Princess.

I don’t know to be honest… I never understood why Bohlin created such a thing for Victoria instead of a statement piece for our first direct female heir since Queen Christina…

I still hold out hope that Princess Desirée or her family will leave Queen Louise’s Diamond Tiara to Estelle in due course… Like the Lorentzen family left the Pearl Circle Tiara to Ingrid Alexandra.

That ofcourse is a possibility annd would be wonderful to see it makes its way back to the mainline.

It does not have to be a bequest, it could be an acquisition made by the King or Victoria for Estelle.

Yes ofcourse but that does require that they want to sell the tiara… Princess Desirée’s family is high nobility and wealthy in their own right so i’m not sure they would want to sell unless they really have to sell…

But we’ll see what happens…

Indeed. But it is good to see that Princess Margareta's aquamarine tiara appears to be back in use by the broader family.

I think the family of Princess Birgitta should leave part of her jewellery to the Swedish Royal Family

As as I'm aware ,Brigitta gave her Pearl Circle tiara to her daughter ,Princess Désirée ?
I'm not sure if she has any other personal tiaras as she wore ones from the main Swedish jewel collection to all major events over the past 20 years.

Agree. Hope the tiara from Queen Louise Mountbatten will be given to Estelle. And from Birgitta I wish the sapphire necklace and earrings will be purchased from the family and included in one of the jewel foundations.

Isn't that tiara with Princess Désirée presently?

Yes, but one can always wish they can make an agreement although they are high nobility and may need the tiara in the future. It is a nice starter tiara, much better than the small monster that Victoria received for her 18th.

Yes Birgitta gave her pearl tiara to her daughter decades before she passed away… That was her only personal tiara, a wedding gift from her grandfather Gustaf VI Adolf who ordered it from a jewellery firm in Stockholm… All her other tiaras was from either the swedish or the hohenzollern family collections..

But i would love to see Princess Sibylla’s cabochon sapphire earrings and necklace return..

Those sapphire and diamond earrings are absolutely gorgeous. The diamond necklace would make a lovely smaller tiara if it was mounted on a frame. I’m all about jewel versatility!
