The Count of Paris, Prince Eudes and Princess Marie-Liesse attended the inauguration of the exhibition "Le Dernier sacre" (The last rite) at the Galerie des Gobelins in Paris yesterday, April 10. The Duke of Anjou attended as well and Stéphane Bern is the curator of the exhibition:

Description:

A deep dive into the preparations and days of a major event

The Galerie des Gobelins takes visitors behind the scenes of the preparations for the lavish ceremony of the Last French Coronation. On September 8, 2022, the world learned of the death of Queen Elizabeth II of England. For the officers of the Crown, once the period of mourning was over, it was time to organize the coronation of her son as quickly as possible.

France experienced the same scenario two centuries ago: on September 16, 1824, King Louis XVIII died after many weeks of illness. The coronation of his successor, Charles X, took place eight months later, on May 29, 1825, in Reims: it was a grandiose ceremony.

From April 11 to July 20, 2025, the Mobilier National (National Furniture Museum) will recount this event in a colorful and scenic exhibition, curated by Stéphane Bern

:previous: I especially like the photograph of the Duke of Anjou and Jean, Comte de Paris standing beside each other. How often are two pretenders to the same throne together?
