For Edward, too, at least in the media. I can't see the two of them together, but Ingrid would have been an asset to any family she joined.
I agree. If Princess Ingrid had married a different husband, she would have studied up on the monarchy she was marrying into.

Princess Ingrid was considered as a match for Prince Edward's brother Prince George.
I wonder if that was ever serious since it's widely known today that Princess Ingrid had her heart set on becoming queen.

Did Princess Ingrid have her heart set on becoming Queen of England? Or was she hoping to become the queen of any monarchy?

According to her brother and cousin - any crown.

I recall reading about Ingrid and Edward VIII too, not that there was an actual romance but that people thought that they would be a good match. To be honest, it was a fairly easy idea for anyone to come up with, and I am pretty sure that many did. Ingrid was a non-German Protestant princess, so for aficionados of royal-royal marriages, she was top shelf.

I have a question. Prince Frederik was engaged with Princess Olga of Greece. But they never married.
Why did Prince Frederik waited 13 years before he married Princess Ingrid of Sweden ?

:previous: If you are referring to marrying Ingrid, she was a pre-teen when the engagement between Frederik and Olga ended. She was 25 years old when she married Frederik, if I had to guess with Frederik being older than her (11 years) and her having an archaeologist for a father, she probably wanted to pursue certain interests before settling down. I know that she traveled on her own and accompanied her father on lengthy trips.
