Hi you guys--
I've just discovered how to quote a post from a closed or locked thread. It's really simple and useful for those who may want to continue a discussion from a previous thread:
Here's how it goes:
1. Go to the thread from which you want to quote something. In this case I chose to quote something from the Polls thread in the Forum Support and Feedback subforum:
2. On the post you want to quote, click on the post number link, the one before the "Report Post" link,
so that the post will open in a new window:
3. On the address bar, highlight the five or six numbers after the last slash and before the dash and post number:
Press CTRL+C or right click then select Copy.
4. On the Quick Reply or Post Reply function, type the following:
for example:
and it will appear like this:
and there you go!
this tactic also works with active, open threads.
i hope you guys get this.
