Kimbolton Castle is in Kimbolton, Cambridgeshire, England. Originally a medieval castle it was converted into a palace.
It was the final residence of Queen Catherine of Aragon.

Bantry House,Cork on the South West coast of Ireland was the seat of the now extinct Earls of Bantry
The last Earl (William White) died in 1891 and the title became extinct ,his decedents still own the house but it has been open to the public since 1946.
A major restoration has been ongoing since the late 1990's.

I can't even image the amount of money it takes to maintain these estates. They are lovely and I really enjoy looking at these pictures.

Hampton Court Palace is a royal palace in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, 12 miles (19 kilometres) southwest and upstream of central London on the River Thames.
Opened to the public, the palace is managed by Historic Royal Palaces, a charity set up to preserve several unoccupied royal properties.

That large house is situated in the Windsor Great Park and parts of it were used in the 2010 movie 'The Kings Speech'.

Blenheim Palace is my favourite of the Stately homes in the UK - it is stunning and fascinating history from the 1st Duke of Marlborough to the Winston Churchill connection. If anyone visits in the run up to Christmas they decorate the house in a different theme every year and have a light trail in the gardens.

Chatsworth and Harewood House also deserve a visit.
