This week, the Aga Khan Museum opened a new exhibition celebrating 20 years of the Al Burda Award and contemporary Islamic art. Prince Aly Muhammad Aga Khan attended in representation of His Highness the Aga Khan.
 
Princess Zahra attended the Royal Ascot.
She arrived in the third carriage with Princess Beatrice and co.
 
Mawlana Hazar Imam and and His Excellency President Daniel Chapo of Mozambique today signed an agreement of cooperation to deepen relations between the Ismaili Imamat and the Republic of Mozambique. Building on a long history of cooperation between the two parties, the agreement covers a variety of sectors including education, health, culture, environmental protection and socio-economic development.

Hazar Imam will attend, alongside other Heads of State, the commemoration of the country’s 50th anniversary of independence this week.

 
Together with Portugal's President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa the Aga Khan attended the ceremonies marking Mozambique's 50th independence in Maputo, Mozambique today, June 25.
Mozambique gained its independence from Portugal on June 25, 1975.

Mawlana Hazar Imam and Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank, met today at the Diwan of the Ismaili Imamat in Lisbon, Portugal.

 
Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Paris, France, this evening, for his first official visit to meet the Jamat since becoming our 50th Imam.

At the invitation of His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, Mawlana Hazar Imam was received by Jean-Christophe Peaucelle, the French government’s official representative to the Ismaili Imamat. Shamir Samdjee, the Ismaili Imamat’s representative to France, and Aiaze Mitha, President of the Ismaili Council for France were also present. Hazar Imam was accompanied by his sons Prince Irfan and Prince Sinan.

A delegation of Jamati leaders welcomed Hazar Imam on behalf of the Jamats from France, Switzerland, Belgium, and Côte d’Ivoire.

Can Monsieur le Président calm down for a second? He and the Prince are friends, and Prince Rahim is known for being very easy-going, but nevertheless he is a religious leader, Macron has to stop touching people like that.

On 11 July 2025, during an official visit by Mawlana Hazar Imam to the Elysee Palace, Prince Amyn was awarded Officier de la Légion d’honneur (Officer of the Legion of Honour) by President Emmanuel Macron, in recognition of his many decades of work to improve the lives of people in France and beyond. The Légion d’honneur is the highest and most prestigious French order of merit.

 
The Jamat gathered at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles on 12 July 2025 experienced the first didar of the 50th Imam, Mawlana Shah Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan.

Mawlana Hazar Imam, who was accompanied by his sons Prince Irfan and Prince Sinan, conveyed guidance and blessings for the worldwide Jamat. He thanked the volunteers for their efforts in organising the visit. Hazar Imam also granted a separate mulaqat to young members of the Jamat.

The Aga was moved to tears, barely finishing his sentences, as he spoke about the loss of his father, and the grandfather of his boys.

 
Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, this afternoon at the invitation of His Excellency William Ruto, President of Kenya.

He was received by Honourable Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Honourable Aden Bare Duale, Cabinet Secretary for Health. Amin Mawji, AKDN Representative to Kenya, and Shamira Dostmohamed, President of the Ismaili Council for Kenya were also present.

During his visit, Hazar Imam will grace the Kenya jurisdiction Jamat with Didar.

The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, today received Mawlana Hazar Imam at Qasr Al Shati, the presidential palace of the UAE in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed and Hazar Imam discussed how the UAE and the Ismaili Imamat can partner to address areas of mutual interest and concern, especially in shared human values, co-existence, quality of life, and inclusiveness.

 
His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V today began an official visit to Uganda from 10 to 12 September at the invitation of His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

His Highness, Princess Zahra Aga Khan and Prince Aly Muhammad Aga Khan arrived at Entebbe International Airport, where they were welcomed by Uganda’s Minister of Health, Dr Jane Aceng, the President of the Ismaili Council for Uganda, Mrs Arzina Kurji, and the AKDN’s Diplomatic Representative to East Africa, Mr Amin Mawji.

Darkhana in Kampala was the site of a milestone moment on 12 September 2025, as Mawlana Hazar Imam graced the Jamat in Uganda with didar. Hazar Imam later granted a separate mulaqat to young members of the Jamat at Kololo Jamatkhana in Kampala.

Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Bishkek for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture prize-giving ceremony. He hosted a welcome dinner this evening for international guests attending this cycle’s award ceremony events.

He is accompanied by his brothers and his sister in-law.

Mawlana Hazar Imam crossed the finish line at the Chicago Marathon, one of the seven World Marathon Majors, on his birthday, Sunday October 12, 2025. He completed the 26.2 mile (42.2 km) course in just under five hours.

Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Houston, Texas, earlier today, marking his first official visit to the United States of America as 50th Imam.

He was accompanied by Prince Amyn, Prince Hussain and Prince Aly Muhammad. Hazar Imam was received by the Honorable Carol McCutcheon, Sugar Land’s Mayor. In the afternoon, Hazar Imam visited Houston City Hall to meet with the city’s Mayor, the Honorable John Whitmire, who also presented him with a Key to the City of Houston, and who will be the Chief Guest at tomorrow’s Opening Ceremony of the Ismaili Center in Houston.

During his visit, Hazar Imam will grace the Southwestern and Central United States jurisdiction Jamats with didar.

Mawlana Hazar Imam and the Mayor of Houston, the Honorable John Whitmire, officially inaugurated the Ismaili Center in Houston earlier today. Set among more than nine acres of gardens and green space, the building is the first of its kind in the United States.
