Totally lost this first day in a new corner of the world.

I am retired and searching my family's history which brings me here looking for answers to old family puzzle.

My grandmother's sibling Johnny Roebuck received an invitation to Queen Elizabeth's 1952 coronation, why is a question that has never been answered.

I hope this website will lead me to a contact point which will help me find the answer I seek.

RKchesn, wellcome to the forums. Don't worry it takes a while to familiarize with the whole forum, but once you get it, it'll go well.

Hello to all members of TRF

Hello to all members of TRF!
I recently joint the forums and now here's my quick introduction:
My first interest in (historic) royalty arose on a pretty "far-fetched" occasion. As a 5-year old child I had read the comic-book "Asterix and Cleopatra" and was totally enchanted by the charming ancient Egypt. Luckily, my mother used to study history at university and owned a
vast pile of text- as well as photo-books about ancient cultures. Consequently, I jumped at everything I could find about the old Pharaoh dynasties. Later, I was likewise fascinated by the old Mesopotamian, Chinese and Japanese dynasties. Concerning modern royalty some time had to pass until December 1999 (I was 13 by then) when I was –by chance– watching crown prince Philippe of Belgium’s wedding at TV and became immediately intrigued with the Belgian royal family, especially king Albert II and queen Paola… until now –even if I’ve developed an interest in some other royals (e.g. crown princess Victoria of Sweden) as well over the years.
So, I’m happy to be in this large and international community of yours :flowers:

Welcome and all the best to the new TRF's members:flowers::flowers:
