If Kate's due date is around 23rd, wedding party announcement may be postponed I think.

I don't think an official announcement about the specific date is made. That's just speculation on the media. They've announced things one day after another. As long as she's not in labor as they are preparing to announce it. It'll be fine. Besides, with babies, you never know how long they'll stay in there even with a due date.

That's why I used 'if'.

Also you are right, you'll never 100 % sure about a due date.

Alexi Lubomirski (who did the engagement photos) is the official wedding photographer.

They have clearly built a nice relationship with him. Congrats to him.

Well, he did everyone a hint. He mentioned that he and his wife were invited to the wedding.

With any luck Mrs Beckham will avoid the 'sucking on a Lemon' look she sported at the Cambridge Wedding....

It's interesting that these people expected a invitation when none of them were at her first wedding. Very interesting.

And I'm assuming if they don't announce it this week, it'll wait until after CHOGM is done.

:previous:Totally agree and I’d go even further though I suspect you may disagree with this but I sincerely hope Meghan doesn’t invite anyone connected to her dad’s other children particularly Samantha as it would only help reinforce her already warped feelings of connections to the RF.

Yes, I don't know why she does that, but in 2011 Victoria looked as if she'd been invited to a funeral, and one she didn't particularly want to attend.

I imagine him and Harry clicked right away what with the Botswana connection and the guy is also a Prince .

She was also very pregnant at a very important event. I have a feeling that was not the look she would have wanted to have at such an event

The Beckhams were invited to the Cambridge’s wedding too. I’m thinking we’ll see Sir Elton too.

It is quite telling that a senior prince of the Royal House is now closer to the Beckhams than the British prime minister.

It's not just that senior prince, but how many senior members of the Royal Family are close to the Prime Minister? If they get anywhere near her, they'd be accused of being political. At least they can collaborate with celebrities to promote issues. Can you imagine if any one of them joined the PM at an event to promote conservation?

Can't imagine Elton John not being there given his relationship with Harry.

HARDLY.. BOTH Princes are involved in Sport in the UK, as is the Princess Royal, it is entirely natural that friendships are made, and maintained.
As for 'passing' Political Leaders, there is little reason for members of the wider Royal Family to be 'close' to them..

Are the royals supposed to be close to the prime minister? Wouldn't that be called too political? I mean, Meghan's friend's in-laws were considered to be too political for that friend to be her bridal girl/woman, but now Harry is supposed to be tight with the prime minister?

American Presidents don’t attend royal weddings. Not for the Cambridges, not for Charles and Diana and not for Elizabeth and Philip. There was zero expectation that Trump would get an invite. He knows that.

We’re told that everyone invited to the wedding will have a personal connection to Harry and Meghan.

The fact the Obamas and Trudeaus aren’t attending is an indication that they’re not as close as we’ve been lead to believe. That’s my take.

I've read (not idea if accurate) Meghan is friends with the Trudeaus and had gone shopping with Mrs Trudeau.

I don't think either Harry or Meghan are 'friends' of the Obamas, they know them in passing from doing events with them but I think they are in the acquaintance category more than the friend category.

Oh, I think Prince Harry is a bit more than simply an 'acquaintance' of the Obamas. There is a professional friendship and a deep respect between Prince Harry and both of the Obamas. Meghan may have by now met at least President Obama, if not yet Mrs. Obama. Prince Harry getting the Obamas and QEII to agree to make that funny promo clip for the Invictus Games two years ago speaks of something more than just a formal acquaintance. The interaction that Prince Harry has with both of the Obamas shows how much they all mutually enjoy being around each other.

Again, I think it's more to do with political tensions that the Obamas were not invited. And thus the decision was to mostly steer clear of all former and current politicians who are not close friends or family. But that does not mean the Obamas are not friends of Harry's. It has already been announced last year that Prince Harry and President Obama will be working together on projects in the future.

Also, Sophie Trudeau is an intimate friend of Meghan's. Both the Tudeaus and the Obamas would have been invited under less volatile political circumstances around the world. I understand the Royal Household's reasoning after consultation with UK government officials. It also makes sense that H&M want to focus on a smaller family and close friends-oriented wedding. That's likely one of the main reasons why they chose St. George's Chapel Windsor.

Note that although it may not be the norm for U.S. presidents to attend royal weddings, if it's the stature of a head-of-state royal wedding, someone may attend who represents the U.S. and it's president, such as Nancy Reagan at the Diana/Charles wedding. That was an entirely different time and place, and a much grander wedding.

Let's be honest though that Trump was never ever going to be invited. There was never any necessity, regardless of his off-putting behaviors, and not even if he was a regular run-of-the-mill Republican U.S. president. The concern has been about Trump's petulance, his ego, and his volatile unpredictability in terms of the current political atmosphere around the world, combined with regard for the office he holds. But surely there's NOT any iota of regard for Trump personally! And also, H&M's is not considered a heads-of-state related wedding, unlike William's where at least some Commonwealth heads-of-state were invited.

Why would they be close to the PM? Other then the queen who meets with the PM? They are not allowed to vote, they are supposed to remain out of politics. Imagine the talk if royals got 'chummy' with a certain politician.:ermm:

Needless to say they have had more interaction with celebrities who have shared patronages, then with a woman who has been PM for less then 2 years.

That will be interesting since Meghan is apparently close to Samantha's biological older daughter, Ashleigh, who was raised by paternal grandparents (along with her brother, Christopher). There hasn't been a peep from either of them. They may be invited, or at least Ashleigh since few in the media know her, although of course Samantha would let everyone know if she's gonna be flown in by one of the media outlets to tell tales.

Perhaps Ashleigh will be at the private reception instead, where no cameras are allowed.

I personally do not understand why the Beckhams even let it be known that they got an invite....can't they just keep something like to themselves?

I think most of us expected the Beckhams to be invited anyways. We don't know who spilled the beans actually with the Beckhams and, in reality, does it really matter? Just like we know for sure Prince Seeiso and his wife will be there among other invitees that have come into the open.

I do think the Beckhams are more on a power trip level than a lot of other people but hey... that's show business. :D

I don't think it's a big deal that the Beckhams said that they're invited. It's not a big secret, I would think.

:previous: And really the day of the wedding we'll probably see film and some photos of guests. I agree, the guests are not a secret.

Nobody spilled the beans as such .
Victoria was on James Corden's chat show with Shaq plugging her Nike collection and he asked her firstly how designing the dress was going and she ruled out that she was doing it .He then asked if she had an invite and she hummed and hawed but didn't answer one way or tother and the other two assumed she was going but didn't want to say .So it's just an assumption they are going (probably rightly and she just didn't want to lie and say she hadn't )

Like you say a whole bunch of people are now saying they have been invited - Alexi and his wife admitted to being invited but initially he did deny being the photographer (he was probably tied until KP announced it though)

Thanks for the details, Humbugged. Shows what I know about celebrities and their appearances on TV or elsewhere. Just not on my radar too much.

I kind of like the human interest stories that are coming out about people that have been selected to attend the wedding. Those, to me, are far more touching and special than celebrities being invited. I love that Harry and Meghan did this.
