What happened to the past Grand Duchesse?
When contacted by L'essential, the Grand Duke's House confirmed that "Grand Duchess Maria Teresa recently underwent scheduled surgery which took place in the best conditions". As part of her recovery, "she will use crutches for a limited period of time." Maria Teresa underwent knee surgery at the end of last year at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL).

Grand Duchess Maria Teresa (69) was photographed using crutches at Berg Castle on the occasion of Candlemass. She had already been photographed with crutches on November 26, during the opening of an exhibition. She previously had knee surgery in 2019 after an injury and was limited in her mobility at the state visit for the King and Queen of the Belgians.

In parts of the Netherlands we have the same feast, just on November 11 and it is called St. Maarten. Children make their own lanterns and go door to door, singing one of the many special sings and get a treat or some fruit (often mandarins) in return.

Yesterday, March 1, Grand Duke Henri was present during the handover of new wheelchairs to the LuxRollers wheelchair basketball team:
